Gillingham - Horrible Football Club

Just been having a look at Gillingham as I know little about the club, until I noticed that their Chairman is Paul Scally and their manager Martin Allen.

Also saw their club statement regarding their recent court case over alleged racism. I think it's pretty damning that a football club would air their dirty laundry and views on their main website, glad to think BCFC would never stoop to such levels to have a sly dig at an ex player.

The employment tribunal decision regarding former player Mark McCammon’s claims for compensation from the football club has come to a conclusion that he should be awarded just over £60,000.

The player had initially claimed almost £250,000, but the tribunal rejected the majority of his claim and was instead awarded the wages he would have earned from the point he was dismissed until the end of his contract, plus £10,000 for loss of feelings.

When you consider he was offered £45,000 before Christmas he hasn’t achieved much for his efforts and it is probable he will have to pay his own costs.

In any event, further to a meeting with the Chairman and lawyers yesterday, and having considered the judgement of the case for discrimination, it is likely a formal appeal will be lodged over the next week or so.

They are clearly a nasty football club, personally would love us to turn them over tuesday night....

Thoughts?

I don't give a **** about Gillingham. Scally's a clart but I know a few Gills' fans and you'd be wrong to tar them with the actions of the club's management.

I would however breathe a sigh of relief if our piss-poor record against lower league clubs in the League Cup comes to an end.

Why are people attacking Gillingham as a place (ive never been there) ?

Afterall people call rovers fans imbreds , 6fingered amongst much worse which if the same rules applied means they are calling themselves the same!

Just stick to the facts/football opinions

Exactly. The supposed actions of two men do not constitute the opinions of the majority. All the Gills fans I've ever met have been sound and I'm sure represent the majority of football supports that are just ordinary decent people

Confirmed! I went there in 2007, it is without doub't the biggest shithole I've ever been to.

Not even close JP. Luton is an absolute dump but Middlesbrough? Why on earth anyone wants to live there is totally beyond me!

That place, apart from the football stadium, is hell on earth! Awful place and the people are chavvy as hell. It's the sort of place where an explosion would, genuinely, improve it and I should know. I worked for a company from up there. spent many an unhappy night and even the locals hate it!

Utter, utter pit!

Yes, and IMHO Gillingham is ever so slightly worse!

Really? Should have gone to Specsavers! Luton is shocking: stared at for being a minority, there away end is awful mould everywhere and you can't even sit down the chairs are that small! Gillingham on the other hand had a friendly pub good banter with the fans, temporary away stand but was a good day out.
