Hmm the Suspension Bridge. Appeared on our Robin badge, can be seen in all it's glory from the south stand and vice versa. Not the most appropriate choice of landmarks for the sags.5 points

To be fair (and I'm sure some of you guys will back me up) I have said that it's far from clear how much money he has. He obviously has some by the nature of his business but that doesn't mean he is mega wealthy or has any liquid funds. I am not carried away by what Wael Al-Qadi has or hasn't got to spend. I just hope they run the club well unlike the last lot chasing dreams they coudnt achieve. No idea what we will have offered in the contract, but realisticly what are Leeds going to offer a man with one years experience as a football league manager. Leeds the opportunity must be a bigger pull than money5 points

Blackbeard was from Fishponds. We may have been non league, have smaller crowds, be in a lower division and never won the JPT, but when it comes to genuine pirate credentials we are the kiddies5 points

Best hope we get Leeds early then! Leeds don't take part in the manager of the month awards, they have Manager For The Month.4 points

I don't really know who is looking for a manager at the moment, but using Sheffield United as an example, they have just gone for a lesser known name, and if a club of that stature came in for him, I think he would jump at the chance. The sad reality of football today is that if we do begin to struggle in League One, fans can turn very quickly (and that applies to fans of ALL clubs), and I'm sure DC is aware of that. Unless he performs absolute miracles next season, It's hard to see his stock going anywhere but downwards from it's present high point.3 points

Just broke out for lunch here in Arkansas where it's a lovely 24 degrees sunny, cloudless sky kind of a day, we've got a tasty warm buffet laid on with some very sumptuous looking strawberries I'm eyeing up for dessert. What could make such a wonderful lunchtime even better? I know my phone going wild with the news of "The Dogfather" himself speaking to Leeds Utd. Now I can say a little over a Million £ a year is on the table and he's not going to get much assurances from his new owner Wael as his contract negotiations there haven't even been discussed but what do you expect from a club who wouldn't buy new goal nets when DC asked for them so bought them himself. The "Owner" (and I say that loosely) has no money, he hasn't put anything in to the club other than buying out Piggy and Co. Oh actually he did buy them new catering facilities A NEW BURGERVAN to help increase match day hospitality revenue, so add that to the Asphalt for the UWE car park it's a win win situation. If it's all definitely on then DC will be gone, there's no love lost between him and the new regime. As for the Stadium? When your going cap in hand around City financiers like a desperate scene from 'The Producers' (as one friend told me the meeting went) to get capital then you know it's going to end badly especially when your OWN FAMILY BANK can't raise the money itself. "Thousand foot barge pole" described another friends reaction to them too. Still they remain delusional and the messiah will deliver.3 points

Hope Clarke takes the job. If he's got what it takes to succeed here, he will. A young, up and coming manager who plays attractive football is exactly what MC said he wanted and suits me down to the ground. Old guys doing the rounds having been sacked elsewhere are to be avoided. Our last decent appt was Larry who we identified and recruited whilst in work, doing a good job. Clarke would be a similar appt. It's a risk, any appt would be but unlike all but Larry, Clarke isn't damaged goods and if fans can't back an up and coming young manager who can you back. Here's hoping. --------------------------------------------- I have to admire your positivity. I have defended Cellino on many occasions as regards his handling of the financial catastrophe inherited from Bates. But from a football & managerial perspective his actions in the past weeks have shown him to be out of his depth. Case 1 - the club launches a fantastic season ticket initiative and then he wines on about being lonely and not looking forward to the season - w.....r! Case 2. Is we know the season ended 2 weeks ago. It's like a starting pistol for appointments of DoF, coaching staff, manager etc then recruitment of players. Has anything happened not a thing. His treatment of Evans is appalling - cellino justified his appointment in October and he has achieved. Fine sack him if David Moyes is arriving .... But he just seems to be trawling round for cheap inexperienced young pups .... Clarke will immediately be operating at a level; with players of a standard he has never experienced. This is not a Martin one'll or JFH serving his time at a lower level, he is a lamb to the slaughter who might just turn us down given he is working for a seriously wealthy owner already. I sincerely hope your right and I'm wrong but if I am ... It will be more a case of luck than good management me thinks. -----------------------------------------------------2 points

Amazed none of the Rovers fans who pop in here has passed comment on the 'Wally isn't wealthy' statements that have been made. Guessing the next couple of months will tell the whole story. But you'd be surprised if he hasn't already added close to half a million to the wage bill with the directors he has employed since taking control. That can't leave a huge amount of wiggle room for new players, no if Dopey has been offered a new deal. You also wonder if the new deal is because they want him to stay, or if they want maximum compensation should he elect to move on, can't imagine a 12 month rolling contract commands as much compo as a 3 year deal from the clubs point of view.2 points

There is no way DC will turn down Leeds Utd, a fantastic opportunity regardless of the owner. He's had an amazing run at Rovers and all it takes is a bad run in League 1 and he could be out on his ear with no chance of attracting the attention of a club the size of Leeds Utd again.2 points

Haha, interesting ! Our record against Leeds is appalling; we always seem to save some of our worst performances for when we face Leeds. Should he get / take the offer, it would certainly raise the temperature inside A.G., hopefully to the extent that we might beat the bastards for a change !2 points

Anyone know of any shitty pubs near Elland Road (I'm guessing, all of them) in which he can ingratiate himself with Leeds fans by getting pissed with them and singing a few songs? Marching all together ...2 points

Ah yes, League One. Dizzy heights indeed. Come back when you've won that division with 99 points, built a new 27k stadium and established yourself in the division above.2 points

In other news they've already decided they don't want Roberto Martinez. Because a manager with a League One title, an FA Cup win and extensive Premier League experience to his name would be a terrible appointment for a club playing non-league football this time last year.2 points
