  1. ....and this is what many of your fanbase have become, getting boners because you've made it to within one division of us. Well done, have a ******* cookie I remember when you used to play us twice every season, not for a long time though. The 'gap' is certainly no smaller than it was in August 2001 when you started life in the basement. In fact, looking at our respective Stadiums and crowds plus actual investment by our owners, it's clear the 'gap' is far bigger now. Bolton fans will know this after their visit to Chernobyl last night, Villa fans who came to the Mem pre season will realise it next week when they come to AG. If you're just going to focus on the League table then Fleetwood and Bury are closer to us than you. You've got the club you deserve...

  2. Yeah valid point - we are on a par with Man Utd, after all they are only one division away

  3. On a seperate note, it's interesting to see that in the footballing "backwater" of ours, we have 30,000 people attending home matches this week. It makes you wonder how big Bristol, as a one club city, could be. Of course I'm not even remotely suggesting the ludicrous merger idea, but the sooner Rovers crawl away & die, the better.

  4. Zach Clough comes on as a substitute against Bristol Rovers in League One in front of a 9,000 crowd at a ground described as "looking like something out of Chernobyl" His Dad told him not to sign for Bristol City who are this weekend playing Newcastle United in the Championship in front of 23,000 fans in a brand new state of the art stadium. Well done lad !

  5. If you think the 'Gap' is based only on what division we are playing in, you are as deluded as the rest of your lot. There would still be a 'Gap' between the 2 sides even if we were in the same division. Anyway, i feel 'Gulf' is more appropriate these days. Once your established in the league above, filled your team with genuine quality and provided top facilities for fans and players like, please come back and tell us wont you.

  6. You know what I really don't mind you lot coming on here. But you and your personal insults of a club legend can **** off back to the Banarama.

  7. City fans in the away end. They were right all along.

  8. Yes. To be fair you did give us enormous hilarity by losing first the "never been in top, never been in the bottom" boast (whilst we had famously been in Div 4) and then topping it with losing league status entirely. All garnished by horse pucnhing, wonga loans and the rubbish spouted by Higgs about watertight contracts. But since then you have achieved a lot in two seasons and can be prowed of that. Football is all ups and downs and without the lows as contrast you don't enjoy the highs; and you had the most spectacular down since Tranmere who I note are now rdiing top of the Conference.

  9. I went to Norwich yesterday. It must be great to live in a City which gets behind the one team. It wouldn't be too bad if the sags actually made a positive contribution to Bristol, but throughout their history they have lived nothing more than a parasitical existence.

  10. He checks this place last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Pretty much like myself and many others. Come out of the closet Phil. There is a nice real actual seat waiting for you in the Lansdown Stand. They are really comfortable. You will also be able to access the fans village pre match and enjoy a nice beer/cider in the sun with a big screen to watch and sports action. There is also plenty of food outlets dotted about. Or if you prefer you could go into our fantastic sports bar which went viral during the Euros. You may have seen that already? Inside there is an even bigger screen, the biggest pub screen in the UK. If you are feeling peckish you can sit down and have a meal. Inside our horse shoe shaped concourses you can walk completely through. You will find some artwork on display in the SS of our club legends. You will find many food and drink outlets in the concourses, there is even free WiFi in the concourse. There are many TV's to watch the early kick offs and it shows our game during the game. Quite handy if you need a pee. Oh please excuse my ignorance, I am not sure if you know what a concourse is? Considering Charnoboyl doesn't have any. If you have the budget I can give you details of all our hospitality suits and boxes? Oh and we are soon to have a further two extra big screens installed in the stadium which will go rather nicely with our new electronic advertising boards. I look forward to showing you around all our facilities and welcoming you to the home of Bristol Championship football.

  18. I see that the Bolton game was the match which "celebrated" the 20th anniversary of the gas playing at the former rugby ground, which they then pirated solely for their own benefit just two years later. Time flies. As these pics show, they've really made some changes under their stewardship. These days it's hardly unrecognisable from that which they stole.

  21. Darryl says 3 or 4 in? But I thought we were being told that they "didn't need to buy the league, like that tax dodger over the river" and "it's evolution not revolution". How will the loyal faithful spin it if they start to splash a little cash?

  22. A Swansea fan mate of mine and myself went in the Bolton end tonight. Really had forgotten what an absolute shytehole that "ground" is. Bolton looked good first half to be fair, a cracking goal from Jay Spearing who looked very good. Awful refereeing who gave every 50/50 in favour of the defender, which more often than not, was some G*s centre half against Gary Madine or Proctor. Ellis the Red looked pretty handy but on the whole, Rovers were very drab. That said, if Bolton play like they did the second half, they don't stand a chance of getting out of that league. Invited pressure and couldn't keep the ball. Didn't fight in the middle and let every 2nd ball fall to a blue and white shirt. In other news, Zac Clough had a couple of handy runs but nothing more. Worked out well that we didn't sign him - couldn't even get into the starting line up and when he did come on he was pushed back into attacking midfield behind Madine. Oh, and Bolton fans - despite bringing a fair few - are terrible at creating an atmosphere.

  24. Back to back promotions always have that effect, you see it with other teams and then after season or two the crowds drop again.

  25. Yes but in a City of around half a million people, with hundreds of thousands more in accessible surrounding areas, 9,000 is pathetic. You can't seriously be comparing Bristol to places like Blackpool, Chesterfield, Southend and Walsall where your attendances are concerned?! Blackpool, for example, averaged over 7,000 in League One last season in a relegation campaign with all their 'issues' - but their population is less than 150,000 - that makes your 9,000 look incredibly paltry. And the others get bigger crowds than you in 'real terms' too. And for the record, we are currently getting around 14,000 more than you at home games....and I still think our crowds are nothing to write home about given our population. "Print that b@stard" DC....

  26. Some perspective, for the small club they are. Two crowds of over 9k is pretty impressive. Last time they were in that division they averaged around 6k I think!

  27. But according to you lot, you're coming for us . Constantly over exaggerate how amazing your fan base is when in reality it ain't is it. You wouldn't get so much shit from us if you didn't believe your own hype. #gaslogic #ticktock

  29. To be more precise: Beaten by Scunthorpe, who were on the verge of the playoffs last season. Beaten by Bolton, who were two divisions above us in May. Beat Oxford, who finished above us and were tipped to do well in L1. Beat Cardiff. Your rivals, who do better than you. Not brilliant, but not bad. And as for calling 9,000 in League 1 "pathetic", the vast majority of clubs in that league would bite your hand off for an attendance like that. I'm not trying to big us up, but just hoping that some more reasonable posters on here might see that what we have achieved in the past two years is actually pretty impressive. We're not going to storm League 1 as you did, but to be where we are now compared to May 2014 is something to be a little "prowed" of.

  31. Bet they mentioned that they haven't won a game yet this season over 90 minutes against 11 men.. What, they didn't?

  32. Good turnout for them on a Wednesday night. As for the squatters, shall I mention we'll have over 20,000 gert shiteds against Newcastle whilst they barely managed 8,000 against Bolton? Better not.

  34. Correction it was 498. I had a box in the Norwich & Peterborough, for the benefit of my grandfather who is 99 years and was a season ticket holder at Carrow Road for 40 years and before that used to watch at their previous ground The Nest from the 1930's. Eight from Bristol and 4 from Norwich. I would upload some photos but haven't got a clue how to do it. Delia's cooking wasn't all that maybe too many sherrys. I've watched more games at Carrow Road over the past 45 years than any other place but Ashton Gate, and I love Norwich and Norfolk. As for the game, as I expected, we were second best. Norwich weren't as good as I thought they would be, but for above reasons have always been my second team and hope they go up. On the games I've seen so far, which is all of them, about mid table for BCFC if we are lucky. As for player ratings: If Tomlin put as much effort into football as he does at arm gesticulation, he'd be some player. Joe rapidly becoming our best player.

  35. The other reason gas fans take an interest in this thread is they actually get closer to the truth on what's going on with the blue few then they do on their own forum, their forum spend far too much time with their heads buried in the sand and that's why they've got the club they deserve
