  1. Jesus......are you seriously trying to peddle the attendance argument, you've either got thick skin or are just plain thick

  2. I'm currently tutoring two Football mad Italian kids. I showed them all the Rovers pictures... Santas Grotto, the stall at the freshers fair, the open top bus parade on an empty street, the bloke running from a horse, the "prowed to be a gashead" grafitti and pictures of their tend stands. These boys were literally on the floor in hysterics! Is there any other club in the country with as much comic material as that lot?

  3. To be fair I'd ridicule those there, the ones that boycotted should be applauded. I'm all for taking the mick but this really isn't the match to do it.

  4. Well regardless of the fact it's Rovers, I don't mind saying I'm glad they won tonight. It means there is at least some justice for Swindon's detestable decision to charge again. Swindon deserved nothing from that game and I'm glad that's exactly what they got. As for those attempting to mock the Rovers fans for their poor turnout, you miss the point entirely. In my eyes, the fewer they took tonight, the more impressive it would have been.

  5. Roles reversed rovers would charge Swindon full price while playing the victim card

  6. Can you imagine the hysterical scenes from the blue few if we took 400 fans to a game that's 45 minutes away, boycott or not?

  7. They boycott every game though tom

  9. I wish you'd boycott this forum you tedious ****. Your last home attendance was 12k less than ours and still you trot this shit out. Why don't you try a new tack, maybe you could boast about the amazing stall at UWE instead?

  10. Sounds like standard Gas, spreading the gospel of shite and then looking a fool when someone speaks up and clarifies the truth. If they weren't so full of crap, people might have a little bit more tolerance. What's wrong with what he could have said, along the lines of .. "If I wasn't here I'd be at Bradford away. I expect we'll take about 5-600 today, which isn't bad at all for a club of our size. Infact we probably have one of the better away followings in relation to our home attendances. We've just got investment that should secure the club's future and give us some stability, although he's hardly splashing the cash, hopefully he'll finally get us out of our current shitpit of a ground and into desperately needed better facilities. We've clawed our way back to where we should be now, after a disastrous last 5/10 years. Anyway, where's your Mrs? Do you mind if I inappropriately grope her in front of your children, oh and you don't happen to have bought a horse here with you, did you..? Only I'm feeling a little irritated and need to punch a defensless animal. What do you mean that's wrong? What are you, a fcuking sh'ed..?!"

  11. Met one of them at a dinner party in Droitwich on Saturday Evening. He was chatting to some Birmingham supporter who got him started by saying that he always preferred the Rovers to the City (less of a threat I assume?). He then went on to spout the usual guff about how he would have been in Bradford that day with "the other 2000" but for this dinner! Then how they were now able to compete thanks to their "Billionaire owner" and their "new stadium", when I pointed out that neither existed and that even Wael had made it clear that it was all bullshit, he continued with the "he obviously wouldn't admit he had money would he?" line. (Thus confirming my earlier post "only the true messiah", etc etc). I just sat their laughing but my wife, who has little or no interest in football or sport in general, got really annoyed when he said how he could no longer go to the rugby because it was no played "at the sh*ts ground" she thought this was ridiculous. She got my phone out (which is usually confiscated from me at these sort of events) and showed the Brum fan their ground and the pictures I had uploaded to facebook of their "stall" at the UWE fair. This did the rounds and caused such hilarity that he changed the subject completely and never mentioned it for the rest of the evening.

  12. ...anyway, to ensure normal service is resumed...I see one of 'them' thought it was 'disrespectful' for us to call him 'Dopey Darrell' BUT... ...after their last game away at Bradford he was quoted in the Bristol Post as saying 'Kelle Roos has made a match-winning save at the end...' How does a match-winning save secure a 1-1 draw???!!! Yep - 'Dopey'

  13. You've just won away at a rival, coming from behind to boot and all you want to do is come here and 'gloat' (I use the term loosely). Get a grip man and F off!

  14. Doubt Swindon will be that bothered, they`ve still got two and a half months before they win the league.

  15. Is there going to be a game where they don't get a pen or the other teams player getting sent off?

  16. In fact I'll go further. Those taking the piss out of people not turning up to a rearranged match, that cost the same or more as the original match and who don't want to give the %##% in charge of Swindon money really need to think about things. Do you want to take the piss or do something about it? After the banner at the gate and then this pointless piss taking I don't get it. if you want to make changes to football we should work together, in the perfect world of protesting there should have been 0 rovers fans tonight and the blokes holding up the 'fans not customers' banner at AG should have kept their powder dry and actually made a statement somewhere where it meant something. Rival fans protesting on behalf of others, might make the news. Bit stronger than standing in your own, new multi million poundground, willy waving to no one who cares.

  17. I can't handle not particularly wanting Rovers to lose tonight, because it would mean a win for Swindon. It feels dirty and wrong, so I've just stuck a tenner on Swindon to win. No I feel justified in wanting Rovers to lose!

  18. I don't get their obsessesion with away crowds either. The amount they go on and on about it you just know that it hurts them that our away attendance averages have been higher than theirs every season for as long as I can remember....Even when we have a relegation threatened season compared to their promotion challenging season. They haven't played at Brammall Lane for 28 years. For any fans under the age of 40 this is likely to be their first visit to see Rovers at that ground. Unlike our fans who go to Hillsborough nearly every year. There was a cycle race somewhere in the country. You Gasheads know how hard this hits attendance figures...."do I go to watch the football or cycling? football? cycling?". Tough decision, as you know it can knock thousands of your gate. I won't accuse your fans of boycotting most of your home games for the last 40 years as everyone knows the reasons for your constant low attendances at home are just because your support is shit and more people in Bristol want to watch City....I'm just wondering why you have a sponsored silence at every home game these days?

  21. i haven't been on this thread for a while so just had a bit of a catch up over the last couple of weeks and it has cheered me up no end. Not sure which is funnier, their regular faux pas or the pathetic attempts at banter by the majority of thier fans I almost feel sorry for some of their more sensible posters. and as for our fans who can't understand why so many enjoy reading this thread, then this freshers stall explains it all. How can you not take the pi55 out of this lot? Perhaps they should start a "I'm not interested in the Rovers" thread where they can converse with like minded fans?

  22. Losing at Swindon? So this could be their 5th game in a row without a win? And it would leave them in the relegation places? "Bristol City, we're coming for you" "Tick Tock" "We're the richest club in Bristol" "We're gonna buy Ashton Gate and turn it into a training ground for our youth team" As The Fonz would say when dropping the H - GAPPY DAYS!!!!

  23. Or because we'd sold 18k home tickets for our next match and 2.5k for our next Saturday away game..?

  24. Whatever you come on here and write , you'll get it ten times worse because there's absolutely nothing you got on us. Do you ever think how sad you really are to go on a rivals forum . Is your life that pitiful ?

  25. ^ This. I'll gladly mock them for all manner of reasons, but the only Gas who need mocking on this occasion are those who paid more for their second visit than they did for the first. Fair play to those who voted with their feet and wallets and elected to stay away.

  38. Its funny because even the bigger clubs have poor away attendances at times. I think only 300 odd sheff wed were at norwich away on a tuesday night few weeks back. I dont get their obsession with away crowds. What you can bank on is them raving on social media again when they take more than 407 to sheff united away which they bloody well should when its the first time they played them in over a decade. If they wanna laugh about sheff wed away didnt we take 4/5000 in early 2000s on that unbeaten run in league 1? Lets see if rovers can do that we all know they cant.
