  1. Form is temporary, being pure shite is permanent.

  2. 3-0, wonderful. The most despised club in the League being thrashed by a relatively charming club.

  3. It was 600 at an absolute max. I'm really not interested in the Gas but the Den is a few minutes walk for me and the lads in my local keep telling me to come down. I've never seen a Dopey Darrell era team and not sure what the fuss is about. They have one class act in the lad in midfield on loan from Palace, but the rest is awful and Taylor did absolutely F all up front. To be fair to them they looked like with 11 they could play some decent direct stuff on the break via the Palace lad but the defence was awful, slow and useless on the ball, makes me realise how good we are playing out of the back. My biggest takeaway about the Gas is the fella with the beard and wurzel gummidge hair is an absolutely obscene diver. Really doesn't matter that he's Gas, I'd say it if he played for my team, he is an absolute embarrassment, I thought I'd seen some things in football, but never a player who dives IN HIS OWN HALF four or five times rather than defend, proper cynical. Make sure you see Millwall's fourth goal, a belter of a back pass from the Gas. Their fans had one round of Irene, one round of 'All hate Bristol City' (yes, that was their second song of the day) and then deadly quiet being abused by the Millwall lot for the rest of it. No one was locked outside but quite a small number made it inside. Must have been some kind of hold up in the concourse that lasted all 90 minutes.

  6. If you'd just moved that up a little you could've blocked them out altogether! Perhaps they were still in Bristol coming to get us..... #patheticsupport

  7. Typical. Apparently Dopey's crying so much the match may be called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

  8. I`d be more worried about the 600 of your fans that had clearly been abducted by aliens in between being counted by your twitter bloke and appearing in the stadium. Where are they? Are they OK? Are they being probed as we speak?

  9. Yes, but you can't see the 30,000 outside

  16. Disgraceful goings on at the new den. Doesn't the Ref know the rules..? I bet this clown will even require Rovers' players to be fouled inside the box before he awards them a penalty! I hope he's brought his thick skin with him, because he's going to be in for a full barrage after this game! How dare he..?!

  27. We took more than that to London on a Tuesday night. I thought they said their away support was amazing? What amuses me is that one week after they start a cocky thread on Slagchat about how they could easily compete in the Championship going by our performance against the joint best side outside the Prem, they've lost to a 4th division team in midweek and been dicked today. Oh, and they couldn't beat another 4th division side last Saturday either. They really don't help themselves.

  30. Gas mate of mine saying it was never a red card and the ref was shocking. What he meant was the ref didn't fall for the penalty box diving and never flashed red to Millwall. Bout time they got a tanking .

  31. OMG the ref's only gone and sent off a player from the wrong side. #boundtofacethewrathofdopey.

  32. Can't say I give a flying (any more than you do), sags lost 9-0 on the telly is all that really matters. By the workings of saglogic I guess it doesn't count as it was before 1982.........

  33. I thought it was Martin Thomas in goal that day. Can't remember the opponents but the pre-2015 sag incarnation got thumped 5-0 on MOTD prompting the "what's the time?" "Five past Kite" gag.

  34. Don't forget I'm only seeing this through my fairly uneducated eyes, but Woodward made a huge, huge, difference tonight. Scored one try and involved in another and had a hand in everything else. Bristol were so up for it, more physical and determined. Certainly playing like they had a point to prove. Varndell also had a very good game, missed his running whilst he was injured recently. One Bristol player (Hawkins ?) lost his head and did a late shoulder charge as we scored a try late in the first half, he was binned for that and his part in the brawl which followed. I expected a Bristol collapse but they just grew stronger! Strings came on quite late in the game. He got a bloodied head and have to have it bandaged. He came on much too late to turn the game round of course, but whenever he had the ball he did the right thing. 'In the form of his life' the commentators said, wish we had him in our team. Obviously this was 'only' a cup game, Bath away will be a different matter. But it was a huge confidence and moral boost. Shame the crowd wasn't bigger to see it, it looked so sparce. Gutted I missed it too.

  36. And they've only had a home for a brief amount of time! Don't forget that. Eastville, Bath and then the Mem. It's almost as if they DON'T want to be a Bristol club. Imagine the shame their supporters would feel if their long term plan was to put them outside of Bristol like some sort of geographical franchise. Course, that would never happen. They'd be protesting, wearing funny colour scarves, demanding action and insisting they are the number one club in the city...

  37. Which is all the more amazing, given we has only existed since 1982.... #gaslogic

  38. My god. Some really ignorant posts here. Every single club participating in this years tin pot trophy have boycotted games. There were three figure crowds and tiny away followings all over the country tonight in protest at the disgraceful reformatting of the competition just as there were in the previous rounds. This is about more than trying to mock our local rivals this is about protecting the integrety of our game. Id hope that god forbid, should we ever end up playing in this joke competition again in its current format, we would take zero away fans.

  39. We are so obsessed with them because we have this 3000 page thread about them apparently? I for one admit that I am indeed obsessed with the Gas. I am totally and utterly obsessed with the squatters and these are the reasons why.... Just mentioning the name of Bristol City Football Club causes a Gashead to go into an a strange teddy (no pun intended) throwing meltdown. They usually start frothing like a rabid dog spouting all kinds of rubbish and it usually starts with a correction of the "actual" name of Bristol City stating that it contains the year 1982 followed by pointing out that it's "Limited". This is followed quite quickly by being told to "**** off. You S***head C***". If you stand your ground they then threaten to treat you like they would treat a horse or one of their own stewards. They mention the "Tote End" as if to rubber stamp how serious they are about fast tracking you an appointment with the B.R.I. Then, in a quite bizarre twist they insinuate that somehow this is all YOUR fault, not theirs. Rule 1 of their Bristol City Fight Club is not to mention the name Bristol City (unless it contains 1982 in the middle). If for whatever reason you manage to avoid physical assault the verbal assault continues.... The 2nd of May is mentioned (not the 2001 one which saw Wycombe relegate them to the basement) Dean Windass Rickie Lambert's goal 72 attendance for an EFL cup tie on a Tuesday night in Scunthorpe The library that is Ashton Gate How they would assault Santa if he turned up at their house wearing red A complete ban on anything red full stop How they are the richest and oldest football club in Bristol (both factually incorrect) How they are the best loyal and faithful and true fans in the whole wide world (the riot when the were relegated out of the football league was caused by Ted's and therefore doesn't count against them) And the big one.....How many fans they took to an away game! It is the number one question on all Gasheads lips "How many did we take?". I am obsessed with how 90% of their terrace songs mention Bristol City How they react with an overspilling uncontainable sense of joy when they win and City lose. How they point out our misfortunes before we even know about it through official channels. How at the very core of every Gas supporter the holy grail is only achieved at the expense of Bristol City in some way:- Rovers win and City lose They beat City City lose Anything negative about City How they can become richer than Bristol City How many more fans they can take to an away game than Bristol City How they are "coming for Bristol City" When they go above Bristol City When they finish higher than Bristol City How disgusted they are with media bias towards Bristol City How they think they have "one over on Ted's" and quickly plaster it all over social media, only to end up finding out that they have got it wrong or that something happens that makes their claim null and void, which leaves them with egg on their face, looking stupid and causing them to want to fight with any 'Ted who mentions it going forward. They can dish it out but just cannot take it back without erupting. How they see themselves as a family club It seems that the life of a Bristol Rovers supporter is tough. Deep down they know that they pulled the short straw when choosing a team to support. They know that they are pretty much destined for an entire lifetime of poor quality football in the lower divisions, but still they cling on to the dream that one day they can become the biggest club in the west and challenging at the top end of the Premiership adored throughout the land. They carry with them the burning sense of injustice and jealousy with their near neighbours having tasted top flight football, and league and cup success from time to time. It hurts to know that a club that was built from ashes has still managed to achieve more than them since 1982. It hurts, and that hurt runs deep. But like an alcoholic in denial they continue to punish themselves with watching kick and rush park football every week whatever the weather, and to save their sanity they tell themselves that they are gods chosen ones, they are the innocent, the loved, the faithful and true, the best club ever, the ONLY choice, and that if you fail to see their reality then you must be an "Obsessed 'Ted".
