  1. And he deserves it sometimes, thats the difference between us and them, most of us have faith in lansdown but not blind faith we all question motives and that's healthy

  3. our training facilites took 6 - 8 months to build, although we had better then them before we moved in, Hamer is in it for a land grab I've said this from the start, the "billionaire" Weal won't be there in the next 5 years he would of sold by then, prob just after the mem has been repossessed or sold from under them this is eastville all over again and yes you thick ***** i know you are reading this, I am not a jealous shithead, I am generally concerned for your club, the fact you are too bitter about us and too thick to question whats going in means you deserve everything that is coming,

  4. Yes Pongo I am aware and I do take precautions. For example, when out and about in Bristol I disguise myself by wearing a red shirt with Lancer Scott printed on the front. Since Lancer has never been known to criticise Rovers’ owners I am always quite safe.

  5. In a reversed kind of way, over the years that has been considered a strength of our fan base by some. We're harder to please and have higher expectations. I'm convinced that a part of R*vers problem is their mentality. They pride themselves on non-achievements and intangibles. The famous blue and white quarters, the most loyal fans in the world, Ricky Lambert, traditionally being the self-proclaimed family club, the fact them gert shit heads critisise their own club and they don't......... There should be a balance of course but an expression of dissatisfaction and trying to hold the custodians of the club to account is not necessarily a bad thing. I wish there was more of it on match day, like there used to be.

  6. I think that's exactly right. Read and Foster were both unfortunate to be playing in an era where things were moving on from purely selecting on keeping ability to picking keepers for their batting above anything else. Both were ok with the bat, just not as good as the likes of Prior, Buttler etc.

  7. I think looking more for a keeper that can bat has meant he never got more games for England. Certainly a very good keeper along with Foster.

  8. And Chris Read. You`ve got to be happy for him, twenty years at Notts and retiring this year. One of the most underrated players around - he would have played a lot more internationals if he`d played for one of the `right` counties I have no doubt.

  9. And yet our chairman receives more criticism from some quarters on here than Wael of fortune ever does.

  11. 10 hours ago Henbury "Scab" Gas said: Now i’m not one for being negative about my football club.... but i sat down last night and had a good think about our current situation ( i know, i know not a good thing to do !). I see it like this UWE is a ongoing situation which nobody has a clue what is going on. Planning is about to terminate in Jan 2018 and to date nothing is happening with South Glos. Very Little Information coming out of the club... Training ground – we have a £30,000 fence which is not fit for purpose which we still have not paid for it yet. Plans still not on South Glos planning portal. Again very little coming out of the club... DC – Nice new contract for 5 years, but as we all know. If DC wants out he will go or if we sack him he gets 12 months pay. Transfers – Very little movement again and very little info coming out of the club. When was the last time DC gave a media interview ? Now i know this all sounds a little doom and gloom but i thinks its all down to communication and we have had very little of that recently. Come on Wael, we don’t want the whole pie just some crumbs to keep us going ! The silence is deafening!!!I think in the last SH interview he said there would be pre-planning discussions with SGC before the full planning application is made for The Colony. I can't envisage plans being submitted much before the Autumn at the earliest and then how many months after that for full approval? It does seem like a very slow tedious process since they bought the land and put the fence around it. Even June next year is looking optimistic to me for the Training Ground to be functional. The charge (guarantee) against the Mem must be getting fairly close to the buffers - frankly I'm a little bit twitchy about the whole situation. UWE planing ends August Wael unable to get finance or backers willing to invest lone against the mem stacking up each week not looking to good is it

  15. Just to play devils advocate, worth noting that a large part of their squad were non league and have over delivered. Reckon the big challenge they face now is trying to get players in on proper money and have potential. Clubs in league 1 buy and sell, it isn't all free transfers.

  17. I don't see why the Al Quadi family would have bought the club unless they intended to stay for the long term and invest.I take Hugo's point entirely. After the fiasco of the Higgs era he's right to be wary. However, if the idea was to make a fast buck then buying Bristol Rovers was never a good idea. It is an even worse idea to then spend money on improving infrastructure, employing a manager on a long term contract with a top six budget, etc etc. The value of the main asset, the Memorial stadium, would soon be absorbed as debt, so at the best all they could hope for would be their money back, and that after several years of heartache. That doesn't make sense to me, they must be committed to developing the club, and for those reasons I am prepared to invest my trust. But I am slightly wary! Is this guy for real They bought the club because of being promise Sainsbury would pay out This as we all know went belly up They then transfers the mem and debt to another off sure comp The intrest is getting bigger each day Its very hard to run a club and make money most are ran at a loss the land for trading ground will be sold off and used for housing Look at how sl have invested 45 million revamp millions on players etc what have weal put in he trying to do it for free

  18. Nothing really. The Peterborough chairman just said they turned down 2 bids from rovers for 2 of their strikers. An earlier tweet stated they bid very low.

  19. Don't start bringing facts and logic into a conversation on THIS thread, unless it's gAss logic . I know there is a fair bit of crap spouted on here, and I ignore most of that, but I can't stay on that site for any length of time. It is delusion central.

  20. Definitely, Perenara and Ryan Crotty were both all but done earlier this year apparently but they pulled out because we went down, I'd imagine we'll get a top class front 3 for the premiership season as well, Pat Lam will have a checklist of players he wants and with SL's money and Lam's puling factor we are in for a very exciting time

  21. I liked this one... Three couples are trying to get married at the same church. There is a young couple, a middle-aged couple, and an elderly couple. The three couples meet with the priest and discuss when they can get married."If you wish to get married in my church, you must all go one month without having sex," says the priest. One month later the three couples return to the church and talk to the priest. He then asks the elderly couple, "Have you completed the month with sex?" "Yes we have, it was easy," replies the elderly couple. "How about you?" He asks the middle-aged couple. "It was hard, but we didn't have sex for the whole month," they respond. "And how about you two?" He asks the young couple. "No we couldn't do it," responds the boyfriend. "Tell me why," says the priest. "Well my girlfriend had a can of corn in her hand and she accidentally dropped it. She bent over to pick it up and that's when it happened.“ The priest then tells them, "You're not welcome in my church." "We're not welcome in the Asda either," says the boyfriend.

  22. It's career day in Ashton Vale Primary school where each student has to talk about their dad. Little Timmy is up last and the teacher calls him to the front of the class."My daddy is a dancer at a gay bar, he takes off his clothes for money and if they pay him enough, he will even do extra's" The teacher, shocked, pulls little Timmy outside and asks him if this is really true about his dad?!Timmy says "No Miss but i was too embarrassed to say he played for Bristol Rovers"

  23. Apparently they offer a 'locked out' season ticket for £12.50 - that allows you to stand in the car park at every home game complaining that you couldn't get in because they sell out every game, but it also allows you a free half of lime and lemonade in The Welly and a dubious burger from the van down the road....so everyone's a winner!
