  1. Players - Mostly frees, cast-offs and squaddies New pitch - fairly standard practice Renovations - curtains and carpets cleaned, new canopy over door New Stand - I'm sorry, I must have missed that Imminent Training ground - I wouldn't be so certain on that....... Bought land for training ground - kicked Coalpit Heath out with little notice, surround land with fencing, not paid for fencing Darrell Clarke contract - meaningless Secured a top,top manager - who may well leave within this season UWE Stadium - kept updated - really, I thought the biggest gripe was little to no communication regarding UWE Dropped talks in interests to the club - no dropped talks because UWE are standing firm and the gas cant afford it New plans imminent - really? my understanding was there is no actual plan B......other than tarting up the mem Watches games with fans - what, once? and for what? sags just lap this shit up is a fan himself - yes, of Chelsea Gives the club new tent - yep, you said it "This man is a legend"........yes, he will be soon.......to Bristol City fans!!

  2. Can't see why they would do so, it's not like the Sainsbury deal where there was a contract in place; albeit with clauses that Higgs didn't understand. The UWE deal was pulled before heads of terms were agreed so the contract won't have been drawn up yet. What should be more concerning is the financial position of the gas. The Memorial Stadium is valued at £11m and a charge of £10m has been placed against this creating a line of credit. The costs of the UWE stadium project and a £1.5m annual operating loss meant that by 30 June 2016 £7.2m of this credit had been drawn and spent. So now that would be £8.7m meaning that the remaining line of credit is £1.3m; being insufficient to cover the operating loss for the current season. So they need more money. Third party companies, even Higgs' Wonga loanees, require security. Now this could be achieved by giving them a charge upon The Stadium but it would have to rank above the existing charge; meaning that a chunk of that £10m would become unsecured and effectively lost to the owner. I will rely upon gasheads' opinion that Wael is a good sort so he's unlikely to liquidate them but the impression also being given is that there is no more money to come and, unlike Steve Lansdown, he doesn't have the money to give up that debt. So this is looking very like the gas will be out of money by the end of the season so will be going up for sale with any new owner having to take on a debt of £10m secured against the ground. The gas may have checked out of the Conference but they can never leave.

  3. So after all this it seems their long list of no-fixed-abodes has grown: Twerton, Eastville, the aborted move to Cheltenham, and now we can add the NotYetihad and the No Camp. Never has a team played at so many 'home' grounds without building anything (canopies and carpets aside). Always Look On The Bright Cider Life

  6. They could tap up their sister club in Spain for a loan. They've just sold a player for £200M. What a Thursday eh? PSG got Neymar and Roverzzz got Neyground.

  17. As City fans, we've been treated to some excellent laughs over the last couple of days. The non-stadium debacle is very amusing indeed, but take time to spare a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves. With relations between R****s and UWE breaking down, prospective new students may never again get the chance to laugh so heartily at the g*s as they did at last year's freshers' fair...

  22. The Gas will merge with Forest Green in the next 3 years. You heard it here first. FGR have £££ and infrastructure, but no fans... Rovers are (comparatively!) well supported and will not have a pot to piss in when Wael is told the game is up by the grown ups and the Mem has to be sold to clear the debts.

  23. And they keep going on about how they are not going to be able to fit all of their fans in the Mem if they stay? Who is doing their maths? Diane Abbott?

  30. I am struggling to understand their forum they lose thousands each week and are 10 million in debt they need a new ground or a revamped mem Which will cost anywhere from 4-45 million both of these after the uwe collapse are 3-4 years away minimum and that's ignoring the massive battle they would face against local residents. thats another 3-6 million debt while they rebuild with money they don't have, whilst being financially propped up by a foreign bank. i can't actually see any other outcome that a sale of the mem followed by liquidation and yet on ass chat there's a wally fan club and people sticking Jordanian flags as their user photo It's utterly farcical

  31. It is all part of a cunning plan by a multinational computer consultancy (trading as Henbury Gas) to depress the value of the company still further prior to a takeover and salvation as a Sunday park team. There are some business terms that the blue few really should look up. They can get access to a thing called the internet if they go to a library and I'm sure someone will be kind enough to explain what a library is. I would recommend these for starters: Leveraged Buy Out Asset Stripping It may start to make sense.

  34. the clue is in the investment banker part, They only invest to turn a profit, there is no profit to be had at the clown factory so now he wants out, Hamer is panicing because he doesn't have the resources and the gas are going to edge ever closer to oblivion, they thought things got bad under higgs well its going to be worse now......

  35. It strikes me that their Chelsea supporting current owner is a bit of a chancer. He's looked at few clubs before coming across Fatty desperately trying to offload them with a deal for the new stadium in place. I bet he thought all he had to do was sweep in pick up the pieces and cash in and sit back while he gets a return on his investment. Now he's going to have to spend money he clearly doesn't want to spend on trying to find a new site, feasibility studies, planning and I just don't think he'll stomach much more.

  37. The news was started on Twitter by someone who was respected by Rovers fans. In no time it was on their forum and then ours. The cat was out of the bag and, as a anyone who has a cat knows, once a cat gets out of a bag you can't get it back in

  39. and that's their problem, they just accept it, and blame everyone else for their misfortunes, Getting relegated from the football elague = Wycombe Fault Trouble at games = must be Teds Stadium falls through again = gas sick of UWE dispite having no plan b (we didn't get what we wanted we had a plan b) their main striker leaves for peanuts = City tapped him up how else did they know his clause in his undisclosed contract (the one that was in the national press 3 months before we even bid) The soon they start looking inwards the sooner they will release they are a joke

  40. Why should UWE have to rethink their approach? It's their land so it either gets built on their terms or not at all. Why do they think they have a divine right to get things for free? These sags are always after something for nothing.

  41. Hi guys! Firstly, id ignore that above twitter account, it's the single biggest piece of nonsense since us getting a stadium. Secondly, I've got to be honest I'm quite pleased we aren't moving to UWE. It's definitely another thing for you to take the piss out of, granted, and the non match day revenue is of course needed if we ever really want to push on. That being said, I'm not sure I like the idea of a half full atmosphere void bowl with absolutely nothing good around it for before and after the game. I've been of the idea for a long time it wouldn't happen so nothing has changed in that respect for me. I can't really imagine anything substantial happening for a while. As for the rest of stuff with the Al Qadis pulling out, who knows? Even from day one i didn't believe in the billionaire hype, there are those that don't believe everything they read, that being said I do think he's improved some stuff off the pitch. If he leaves, we'll he was skint anyway. Honestly, nothing will ever really surprise my with this club.

  45. Legal charges are a method of securing debts. In other words Wael is worried that should it all go pear shaped (if it hasn't already) he will not lose the money used to pay off Nick Higgs and other directors plus the Wonga loan. Should the Minimal Stadium be sold, he will be guaranteed to receive the money - approx £9m for Nick Higgs & and directors plus approx £3m Wonga. After he has received his £14m the other creditors will get their money and if there is then anything left it could go to the club. So, Rovers might be left with, say, a couple of hundred pounds to enable them to build a new ground. Placing is charge is hardly the action of a billionaire who has long term grandiose plans for the club. It's the actions of a man who realises he's out of his depth in the world of football and finance and wants to get out.

  46. So it was all a pipedream (pic attached) Listening to Radio Bristol this morning one fan came out with "Lansdown were coming for you" Also another talking and I heard the word "Scrounge" so no plan B just try and get some thing for free maybe. Dopey has a get out clause so first club that comes in for him he will walk. COYR looking forward to Saturday.
