Well, that's me done. I thought I could raise the odd chuckle on here but I can't compete with a masterpiece like that.13 points

With my hobby being Astro photography a friends 9 year old lad asked me a question the other day. "How far is a light year" I thought about it and gave him the answer it's how far light travels in one calendar year, still puzzled he said "But how many miles is that". Well I said you know where Ashton gate is, yes came the reply. You know where the Memorial Stadium is, yes came the reply. Well that's a light year. Job done nipper fully up to speed.12 points

There is. Precedent is making a decision based on similar previous events. While caselaw - that's a salad cream based popular filling for jacket potatoes. (c) Humphrey Lyttleton9 points

Can anyone say any reason why we would say 'yes' to them using our beautiful stadium? I can't think of one reason why we would advocate it. While they're down, put the boot in is my opinion. F##K them!7 points

Groundshare at AG indeed, can anybody believe these idiots ? One of the shortest conversations ever known, I would assume ! Wally : "Hello Steve, can we share A.G with you ?" SL : "No" Wally : "Oh, right......I'll get my camel"................6 points

I shit you not, a gas head mate just posted this. "Wherever we end up playing in the future in needs to have the potential to be expanded beyond 25k. We can't limit our progress."6 points

So the family aren't willing to pay the extra to get UWE over the line when they would be getting around 15-20 million for the sale of the mem....yet people think they will spend their own money on a decent mem redevelopment with nothing to sell to raise funds!?! Wake up!!....best EVER chance to take club forward up in smoke.4 points

Anyone want them to win tonight so we can draw them at home next round so 22000 of us can sing 'we've got our stadium'? Then stuff em 6 nil with a Matty Taylor hatrick4 points

What have the Romans ( Jordanians) ever done for us ha ha ha sipirate said: Without Wael, would we still have DC?Would we still have Bodin?Would we have 10x amount of staff we do now? including sport science, which may I add is clearly doing a great job judging by the extremely low injury list!Would we have submitted planning application for new training ground?Would we have Hamer, who saw the transition of swansea to their new stadium in 2005?NOOOOO, so quit being little girls whispering in the playground.Best thing since sliced bread, has become one of us, what owner do you know who stands in the terraces with the crowd? his brother last game of the season during promotion at half time came into the blackthorn end for the second half.. im thrilled with the family and THANK YOU so much for finding out that this deal was not right for OUR club! saved us from a right wolf in sheeps clothing!3 points

The apathy of Rovers fans about this and everything else sums them up. If we were fed decades of under investment, broken promises and third world conditions there would rightly be all sorts of protests. They as a supporter base seem to have no method of getting answers or challenging things. The lack of coherent support groups on their small patch of the city only goes to show how the 'most passionate fans in the world' are so use to being fed shit that they just accept it. And long may that continue.3 points

They are cheeky pikey squatters. They don't want to go anywhere near 'Trashton' because it's full of shit. Even some of them refused to go and watch Bristol Rugby play there, but they are quite happy to use it whilst the Mem is flattened for rebuilding. Let's hope that the only rebuilding to be done on a flattened Mem would be houses! **** off Irene. I thought we had got rid of them for good in 2014, but they had to come back and start festering again. It's like turning up to a PE lesson every week and being sent to scavenge through lost property for some kit!3 points

Not test match, but watching England U19's vs India U19's and Rob Key talking a lot of sense, apparently a lot of the surfaces the U19's play on are worn surfaces that have been used for other pro matches, in essence we hand the advantage to India straight away and Key makes the point which English 19 year olds have a game geared for spin bowling, practically none. The pitch is turning a long way after 25 overs and India are ripping through us. Why don't we allow the U19's a pitch that we'd prepare for the senior team if a subcontinent team were touring?2 points

This "state of the art" secure fencing must be a minimum requirement when keeping circa 20,000 locked out every other week...2 points

I don't mind them sharing the gate, charge them 1.5 million a week and put a clause that they have to pay £100 a ticket and we get to keep all the proceeds2 points

I agree. Look how we had to jump through hoops really parking etc. They're in a far worse position than we were IMHO. Just because they can build to 17/18k doesn't mean they would be allowed to. As to using the Gate, I would hope the 2nd word in reply to any request is 'off'!2 points

Bet they are all salivating over "world class stadium". How the **** are you going to get one of those in there? Why not just say modern stadium, got to over sell it as usual and end up looking more and more suspicious. The bloke is a total fraud. If they continue to buy into his pie in the sky speeches then they'll get exactly what they deserve.2 points

Still, there's always Cossham Street (sorry, The Curtis Drew Stadium). The Blue Few could claim they're ground-sharing with Man United....2 points

SL should by the Mem and let the egg chasers have their spiritual home back and let the gas rent it from him for silly money2 points

I remember when Colin Howlett would regularly overestimate the number of gas at an away match "Oh, there must be nearly 2,000 R*vers fans here" When the actual figure was nearer 5002 points

No plan of the design no money to fund it no planning in place debt accumulating at 1.5 million a year i can't see them surviving, their one bad season from oblivion2 points

I have only had time to listen to the first couple of minutes of that interview but I picked up on a couple of things. He implies that the family have pulled the rug from him, "The Family own Dwayne Sports", the statement came from Dwayne Sports, it's the family money invested but a protected investment. He doesn't go on to say how the charge on the mem protects their investment, but clearly there is only one way that could be realised, even the most gullible gasheads must be starting to see how dodgy this whole thing is starting to look for them. I skipped to the end to see what @pride of the west was alluding to, and the evasiveness of his answers should be chilling for their fans. He doesn't say that the non-payment of contractors is because of contractual disputes, he just holds it up as an example to deflect the question. He doesn't say at any point that the funding by Dwayne Sports (lets finally put to bed the idea that he himself has any real money) will continue. If the "world class stadium builders" have indeed been engaged, I would imagine they are asking for as much of their fees up front as they can get.2 points

So WAQ is the idiot son who was given something unimportant and small to look after, where he couldn't do much damage and he's even managed to cock that up completely. Happy Days2 points

Wael has just confirmed that Rovers will be staying at the mem - "a beautiful piece of land" - which will be redeveloped. Good luck with that!2 points

I'm guessing that wouldn't give them rights to throw up anything without thought for the locals.1 point

Flatten . Like having a look when it's all going wrong to see how the bestest most loyal fans in the world start falling apart.1 point

planning permission for the Mem isn't an issue, it's previously been granted, if it was turned down this time rovers would take it to appeal and court and would win1 point

Having had a good look at the Gaschat thread, to be fair the deluded are few and far between. There are many very upset and disappointed posters who think this signals the end of the dream. "The honeymoon is over" comments sums it up. They mostly know they're back to square one - and with only snakes and no ladders on the horizon.1 point

That worked out well for Bristol Rugby, didn't it? I'm amazed that Bath City held on to Twerton Park NOT BLOODY LIKELY1 point

Wael hasn't yet had first-hand experience of the difficulties attached to gaining planning permission in Bristol generally and specifically, in the Gloucester Road area. I think that the NIMBY's will already be sharpening their pencils and drawing up battle plans. He'll be foolish if he thinks that he'll be able to substantially redevelop that site without a prolonged fight.1 point

That would be the sort of thing they would try to do to us..... lets not stoop to their level...1 point

I've seen Clifton RFC's name chucked around on here as an option for the sags. I don't know how many people have been there but I've seen a number of Bristol Rugby friendlies there and there is absolutely zero infrastructure for any sort of immediate ground share. While there is a decent amount of land there (probably the equivalent of 5 full size pitches) it is way out in the sticks and parking for a few hundred cars would be a nightmare let alone those that come with 6 or 7 thousand fans. As for a redeveloped Mem, that's been on the cards in various forms for decades and no one has come up with a sensible proposal due to the footprint of the ground. The thought of 'world class' stadium developers producing anything of note there is frankly laughable. At best I believe they'd be looking at an all seated capacity in the region of 14k max. Still, the sprinklers and curtains would be world class.1 point

Lands down for all his investment does have his critics but wally offers nothing but half truths and promises and anyone who doesn't toe the party line is a judas ted their forums like they are all brainwashed it's laughable1 point

So they had a plan b ? next sentence he said we will have to look into what can be done at the mem sound like plan b was an after thought1 point

I hope they feel like shit. All their gloating they gave us when we got relegated and had our plans for Ashton Vale turned down. They can get fooked!1 point
