  1. No. I hope they get relegated, get relegated again and go bust. My real preference would be to see them simply go bust and disappear without having to wait a couple of years.

  3. Why do people care about bristol football? I genuinely dont understand it, how on earth can it be a good thing for bristol city? I care about bristol city, not bristol football.

  4. Uh nope. "It would be good for Bristol football ...". That's the sort of thing that you'd expect the mayor to say and with respect, he and his tube system are 'kin delusional. How exactly would it be good for Bristol football? I can only think of one - it would benefit the 15ers. It wouldn't benefit us, Manor Farm, Mangos etc, Downs football yada, yada. So where would you see benefit?

  5. It’ll be good for ‘Bristol football’ if City get promoted to the Premiership but there won’t be any Gasheads rooting for that. Personally I don’t care about Bristol football, I only care about Bristol City who IMO are the only club in this City who have ever shown any real ambition anyway. As we’ve seen this season we are perfectly capable of providing a good impression of football in this area on our own. The longer they stay in our shadows the better. Having them in the Championship is like putting Holloway on TV....does very little to improve the tinpot, bumpkin image many outsiders have of our wonderful City.

  6. On Slagchat they’re patting themselves on the back in that w@nky way they always do because they are averaging nearly 8900 this season despite not having been higher than 11th. Plymouth average higher than Rovers even though they were bottom of L1 as recently as December. Even MK Dons (currently 3rd from bottom btw) average higher home crowds. You need to be a particularly deluded set of fans to be chuffed about the size of your support despite having smaller attendances than a club that didn’t even exist 20 years ago.

  7. I don't care if it's good for Bristol football or not, but anything that hastens there demise if fine by me.

  8. As I remember it, he was invited to show proof of this disabled red, supposedly attacked by our supporters in the stadium, and didn't, it was denied by both the football club AND Avon and Somerset police, wasn't seen by anyone in the 20,000+ crowd and was proven to be bullshit! IIRC, wasn't there talk of a libel suit against Henbury numbnuts for blatant lies? If that's 'proving us wrong', I would love to know what the weather is like on his / her / it's planet? What a bell end!

  10. Henbury Gas , always a giggle. So are Bristol Rovers football club about to enter a new Golden age of football greatness Interesting We have a great manger I'll give him good , at that level. We have a good set of footballers giving it everything for the badge. Can't comment We have a development squad we can be proud about with some very exciting players. Again , can't comment We have a good backroom team. Who knows, what have they actually done? New owners who want the very best for the club. Even their fans are having doubts New commercial dept desperately looking to bring more funding into the club with new and innovative ideas A new Ground breaking shop in the near future. What is a 'ground breaking shop' when it's at home? Always in the future too. New ticketing facilities to make it easier for distant gasheads. Does this mean , makes it harder to rip the club off?? We have a new training ground about to be built with excellent facilities to attract the right type of player to the club About to be built ? Again ? A new purpose built stadium about to be announced Did I miss something? The Post would have had a 64 page pull out if it was that close surely A great set of supporters. All the bricks are now in place to build a championship club , Canvass , surely

  13. My neighbour just banged on my door and shouted,”can I use your phone? There’s been an accident along the road and a gas head has been run down and he is bleeding to death.”I asked him what’s wrong with your own phone?”he said,”the camera is shit on mine.”

  16. Went to the opener of the Super six when Froch beat Dirrell. It didn't start till about 2am despite being at the Trent arena due to the tournament being aired in America. Forest had played Newcastle in a televised evening game so by the time the fight came round there was thousands of very drunk and lairy Froch fans causing chaos around the arena. Was a terrible fight as well, I thought he'd lost it at the time. Shame I didn't take a photo when the fighters were in the actual ring

  17. To be fair to Edward, he has taken it in pretty good grace. You can see how much having some of his stable in such a successful rival promotion is screwing him though!

  19. Nice to see pretty much every possible outcome predicted already, so rare it happens before fights. Really like this tournament format, stops any potential silliness from fighters trying to duck opponents, making silly demands etc.

  20. What a bunch of absolute belters. ”envied away followings” Take a day off you deluded Sag idiots. Same club that takes barely 300 to Gillingham, Rochdale and Bradford and even less to Scunthorpe...all on Saturday afternoons. Yeah I expect fans of clubs up and down the country dream of travelling in such huge numbers Sleeping Giants? Haha, brilliant! Average crowds of around 9k last year, which was their highest for FOUR DECADES, bang average away support for a mid table L1 club and the worst ground in the League yet they think they’re massive. They’ve actually got the nerve to call us deluded. You’re right, he bottled any opportunity to show us proof and even changed the story about what happened several times. Didn’t stop the other gullible morons on Slagchat lapping it up. If I remember correctly they even deleted the thread, presumably because the mods on there finally realised that they had been taken for a ride by a total bullshitter.... again.

  23. Because they are proper fans who have followed their club all their lives? I’m assuming you can’t have supported City for very long then? We haven’t exactly set the world alight over the past half a century - just one division title in the last 60 years....nothing else of note...not everyone hotfoots it up to Old Trafford to support a big club when their local club wins basically nothing...

  24. Not quite. I understand that you have three years from promotion - assuming you stay in the Championship. However! If you get relegated and then promoted again they time you previously spent in that division goes against you. So, promoted - 3 years to comply. Relegated after your second season. Promoted again - 1 year to comply.

  26. Nope. Imagine the UK seeing that shanty town on highlights or live games. That would give Bristol a very shoddy image. Let 'em rot.

  27. Agree. I'm going for Groves on points, so long as he can avoid a full blown tear up.

  29. Okay I'll say it....anyone else have a niggly thought in the back of their mind that it would be good for bristol football if they snuck up through the playoffs?

  30. Hope Plymouth go up. Been skulking around the lower leagues for too long, good set of fans and all mind.

  31. Be good to gather some opinions. Usually when one of us goes up, the other does too... (At least in my life time). I don't think we will, but alike 'Muff and Gillingham we've come from 15 or so points behind to be 5 off with a game in hand, so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't starting to get excited about it, but I fancied our chances a lot more last season despite us being on the same points/gd at the same stage last year, only last year 6th had a game in hand on us whereas we have one on 6th this year. If we hadn't had that very poor run around oct/nov I'd be a lot more confident, but that's football for you. We always seem to be a much stronger team the second half of the season under Clarke so it's going to be interesting. I do wish he did his half time team talk before the game though because having to come back every game is a little stressful! That said, it's fantastic because the 4 seasons prior to DC we only managed to comeback and win twice. I'm just enjoying it all at the minute, the day a big, stable club comes in for DC I know we'll drop back to League 2 from wherever we are and sign a lot of shit players on 3 year+ contracts.
