  1. Strange how so many of us on here are renewing a football season ticket DESPITE the football not because of it

  2. Well, I have succumbed to renewal for City and Bears but I'm still unsure about City being able to do well and manage to get into the top six after 46 games. However, as I'm coming up to 81st birthday, still fit and able enough to get to the matches. I have done so because this life isn't a rehearsal, I am keeping all my interests going as long as I can. So it's dog walking twice a day, model railway construction any spare time, City and Bears for entertainment(?) keeping the garden alive and still doing all the cooking as wife is useless at that. But I still want to see running, flowing rugby and a football team that will provide entertaining matches, win, lose or draw. PS. Can we please arrange for Rebecca Welsh to referee all of our matches, the best and impartial, referee I have seen in many years.

  3. Fair play for your patient response @BrizzleRed. I find it bizarre that it still needs spelling out, and just as bizarre that it keeps getting raised over 5 months after the bloke got sacked. I also find it bizarre to talk of a bloated squad. A squad is a squad. It won’t ever contain 25+ players all of top 6 ability, unless it’s because we’ve been relegated from the PL! Hey ho!

  4. That EFL statement in horrendous. They just don’t get it. All they mention in there is that things were previously discussed but there were no financial agreements. Basically they are saying that if they get some more money they’ll agree to it. They don’t appear to mention anything about the joy of the competition and how enticing and exciting it can be for fans of non prem teams to be drawn against superior opposition. The chance of a battling draw at home to be given the opportunity of a lifetime for some players and certainly of fans to visit the top teams and stadiums. There is zero connection to any emotions in that statement. It’s just all financial. And we’re expected to believe that the likes of Parry, Ridsdale and Moxey sat there and said nothing! Yeah right.

  6. See you have the book “Derby Days”. For the benefit of our younger subscribers, perhaps you’ll be kind enough to answer their natural question, wtf is a derby?

  7. I wasnt sure and deliberated for a while, but in the end decided not to renew after 22 years. Few diff reasons but I think ultimately there were a number of games this year Iv had very little enthusiasm to go, and I’m going to be more selective with games I attend so I can spend more time over the weekend with my 2 young sons. I can always look at a half season ticket if things improve, but Manning still hasn’t convinced me and I don’t enjoy this passive, slow and ineffective football we’ve been served for majority of time during his tenure.

  8. Absolutely, 100%, spot on, CA. This is, quite literally, the first thread on the football forum that I've even looked at for 6 weeks. The thread on the pre-match press conference before the Swansea game was the final straw for me. The place seemed to have become little more than an echo chamber of people looking for reasons to hate Manning. I can't say I've missed it so wasn't thinking of looking, but I happened to see a 'latest post' headline and thought I'd be interested to see how Yeboah is progressing. Maybe find out how he's doing, some discussion on whether he's showing strengths, weaknesses, whether any of these might be a fit with our style and set up. None of it. About four posts about Yeboah and then it turns into 'reasons to slag off Manning' and 'Pearson v Manning' yet again. It's just pathetic. It seems like little has changed in those 6 weeks, so thanks for confirming that! I'm off again!
