  1. As Oliver Prince Smith, a U.S. Marine four-star general, said during the Korean war “Retreat Hell! We're just attacking in another direction.”
  2. Bristol may have a poor Championship club but at least we’re famous for the awful road system
  3. There are few moans on the Rovers’ forum as everything is wonderful. New South Stand, other ground developments on the way, Premier League football in 5 years and, of course, the best fans in the country that are loved by every other team they play.
  4. This has given me a fantastic money making idea. I’m going to buy some of these tee shirts from Peacocks for £5.20. Then I’ll write “Frank” (my middle name) on them in felt tip and sell them for £35, giving me a quick £29.80 profit. OTIB members can have a 5% discount. Just PM me
  5. I’ve looked at this website and I’m none the wiser. Usually a website will be very specific about the business activities etc. This is just nebulous waffle
  6. Kevin Manbutt Superstar. Those were the days
  7. I’m a believer in the multiverse theory basically because, if correct, there must be at least one universe where Bristol City has had a long history of being a successful team. In this universe I haven’t wasted a lot of my life watching awful football. In many of these universes @Superjack , @Silvio Dante and myself don’t exist so Super Jack didn’t post anything about the future, Silvio Dante didm’t reply and I didn’t read anything (sorry for the rambling but it is an international break)
  8. Eastville was a run down place even by the standards of the day but it had the advantage that you could easily wander from one part of the ground to another. That was the same as a lot of grounds in those days. Wandering was helped by the fact that crowds were small.
  9. We did, but one win in six matches doesn’t inspire much confidence
  10. Cor blimey me old babber, the one thing I didn’t realise I’d miss when I moved to West Brom was cod lot and a pickled egg
  11. My prediction: Home Leicester L Blackburn D Huddersfield D Rotherham L Away Plymouth D Sunderland L Norwich L Stoke D Msybe this seems a bit harsh with only 4 points from 8 games but results are strange at the end of the season. Teams that are doomed to relegation suddenly play relaxed football, hence City to lose at home to Rotherham on the last day of the season
  12. The one advantage of supporting dull City is that every 20-30 years there is a really good season which results in promotion. Whether or not it’s worth putting up with the stuff in between is open to debate
  13. Another, another, way of looking at it is how much is Conway worth now? The longer he plays in this system the worse his goal scoring percentage gets. I’m sure other clubs will realise his potential but if he doesn’t sign a new contract in the summer he may be sold for a bargain (for the buying club) fee
  14. “There’s only one Nigel Pearson……….” I hate posts like this because they give me hope. It's not the despair, I can stand the despair. It's the hope.
  15. Unfortunately I’ve got to agree as the top man, SL, won’t sack his son or Brian Tinnion. Without a big shake up at the top, with experienced professionals taking their place, nothing is really going to change.
