  1. Are you suggesting that La La La La Larry was a bit of an apeman?
  2. Stuart Taylor was a real gentleman. I never met Larry Lloyd, but I met Stuart Taylor several times and, together with Graham Day, another Rovers centre back stalwart who I knew quite well, they were both really nice men. Sadly, all three of the aforementioned Rovers centre backs have now passed away.
  3. I posted on a thread in the ‘General’ forum how the Bristolian, ex Liverpool centre back had passed away. Isn’t it funny how people’s memories work. For me, Larry Lloyd was the ex Bristol Rovers player who signed for Bob Shankly’s Liverpool. Nevertheless, I am sure most people probably remember him as the Nottingham Forest centre back, who won the European Cup.

  5. I am just hearing that Larry Lloyd, Bristolian former Liverpool centre back, has died. Another one from that generation of footballers of my youth.
  6. As I have mentioned previously, very much a game of chance. Wordle 1,013 3/6 As opposed to QUORDLE Daily Quordle 794 m-w.com/games/quordle/
  7. But, does Signora Dave think the same?
  8. Today's was very much the same. All the letters after three attempts, but, a la Eric Morecambe, not in the correct order. Wordle 1,011 4/6
  9. As I mentioned earlier, I was only missing the fourth letter, and would have inserted a ‘T’, but that had already been excluded. My infrequent failures to complete WORDLE have all been due to a choice of several possible correct words with my final letter on my last attempt, sometimes several attempts.
  10. Perhaps, but over and above his involvement in the playoffs, I still consider his goal against Scunthorpe to be one of the best I have ever seen live.
  11. It is, of course, better known as a forename, but is also the second word in a well known phrase, hence my comment in my earlier post about the fact I completed it on my fourth attempt. Re. failures, I have failed WORDLE on a few occasions, but never failed to complete QUORDLE.
  12. I did, actually, in my first go, along with the fourth letter, both of which were green - obviously a fortuitous start. I had four green letters by my third go, and the obvious choice for the missing fourth letter had already been ruled out, making it a formality to complete. I have posted previously that I far prefer QUORDLE. I do both most days, but find WORDLE very much a game of chance.
  13. I actually completed it in four, which I thought was slightly amusing - forth and all that, assuming it was the same word. Why might there have been some ructions? I also completed Quordle to maintain my long successful streak (completed, but not in four), but I cannot for the life of me remember the word.
  14. Unfortunately, the link says (for me) that the site cannot be reached. Any chance of a copy and paste? Thanks in advance.
