  1. Its a good point in terms of history repeating itself, but a bit revisionist on Danny Wilson. 99% of the fanbase wanted him gone after the PO final, and the football during his last season (with a talented squad) was dire. The mistake was appointing BT as his successor.
  2. I remember the 1-0 in 2000 at the old Manor Ground, an awful game between 2 teams scrapping near the bottom of division 2 at the time. Peter Beadle was copping a fair bit of stick from the away end!
  3. Looked lethargic, under-cooked and possibly a little complacent. Given that, I'll take a point against a side that are never easy to beat
  4. And yet rightly or wrongly France are letting considerable numbers into stadiums. Given that our government's (deeply flawed) response to covid 19 is extremely data driven, it will all depend on whether the data shows that cases are being transmitted at sporting events. My money is on very few cases being transmitted in this setting with all the social distancing and hygiene measures in place, plus the fact that it is largely all outside
  5. I'd turn up at 9am if it meant getting capacity crowds back at AG by Autumn! Pre vaccine I think mass testing is the only way of returning to normality-at sports/cultural events, airports, potentially even large shopping centres etc. They need to roll out the 20 min swab test and mass produce it. No need for social distancing if everyone is tested!
  6. I wish I shared your optimism that this virus will just fizzle out, unfortunately I think it is here to stay. However I do think mass testing could provide a way to see us back in grounds far sooner than some are suggesting. We now have a highly accurate 20 minute swab test, if this were to be rolled out on a grand scale then it could be a way forwards for things such as sporting events, social gatherings and air travel which are currently taboo subjects.
  7. For me its both. The scaremongering from the media from the very start has been beyond hysterical, and has frightened the life out of society in a way that it will be difficult to ever get back to true normality. As for the government, well they had a duty to protect our most vulnerable, and they have failed miserably. What has happened in the care homes is a national travesty.
