  1. What happens in August? Does the planning permission run out or something?
  2. Duric still injured. LJ said that Reid/Patterson/Tomlin can play up front so no McGoalsky i would have thought.
  3. agreed we need Korey in midfield even though he is a great right back. Matthews will not play probably as his confidence is shot to pieces. he was once a great player but something has seriously gone wrong. Vyner at RB for me or maybe even Brownhill with Cotterill coming in.
  4. I started this thread because I did not believe many would boycottt a club we all love, as I have only started reading OTIB/posting regularly in the last few weeks. I have been astounded at the negativity towards a self made man, who has devoted himself to our club and Bristol Sport. As someone said there are half pint full and empty people and and I am a full person I believe in what SL is trying to do for our club and I am very grateful. Either I am a ridiculously naive happy clapper or there are some seriously negative people supporting Bristol City. As we have been such an underperforming club for the vast majority of the time I have supported them, I would have thought you have to be a believer to follow us. "We're Bristol City, We Always Believe" was one of my favourite chants. When we are in playing in Europe we will all laugh about this thread, even though I dont think LJ will be our manager.
  5. Best night of my life. Thanks for reminding me. Oh how I would love to feel that again
  6. hope you enjoy the game
  7. no rovers players?! Is Tammy unlucky considering he has been playing for a struggling club?
  8. Ok I see your point. Yes they signed Tomlin and yes he picked him. He got it wrong there is no doubting that but Tomlin was a world beater 7 months ago and we all loved him. Funny old game.
  9. Loon plage I agree the rugby is even more frustrating than the football. Robinson was tolerated for far too long, whilst everyone could see he was completely out of his depth in modern professional rugby and Booy should have acted far sooner. I have heard top players would not want to join Bris becuase of Robinson. Our relegation is testemant to that. The difference in my analysis of why these failings were allowed carry on, is that SL and Booy share a trait which can be advantage and disadvantage. They believe in stability and long term support for managers coaches, unless we are in a complete crisis. This has cost us a few times in both teams. The alternative is knee jerk or unnecessary changes such as brum or derby. what I would like is a happy medium. Long term support for the right person! there is no point supporting someone is obviously not up to it.
  10. Do you believe he missed that penalty on purpose?
  11. I believed they thought LJ was young manager with a lot of good ideas, who would implement their new strategy because he shared their vision. They didnt want another "experienced old hand who would want to do it thier way. He also had to be someone who was happy to work with a Director of Football. Why did we appoint Millen he had no experience? I think they genuinely believed he was the man for the job, as he may well turn out to be. The idea that SL a very hard headed businessman would appoint someone because he was a friend of the family, sounds very far fetched to me. I think SL nepotist believers, are clutching at straws because we have had a disappointing season. SL does not strike me as a sentamentalist. He built his business from the ground up and now has now no major stake in it. If he was arrogant or sentimental he would have stayed on and tried to continue to influence what he and Hargreaves had created and satisfy his ego.
  12. It shows that replacing Tammy's goals is crucial. I think our defending was the area that killed us. How many times did we score first and then lose in that bad patch? why were we so fragile. Is Bailey Wright the big reason? Was it bringing Fielding back? Was it the left and particularly right back problems? Was it the midfield inability to keep the ball? Was it Pembertons coaching. I would be be very interested to hear what LJ's reasons are? Has he given any that are believable?
  13. my brum mate is cheering us on against Barnsley, as I said we would play kids against them if we are safe. You get some funny allegiances at the business end of the season.
  14. i think this thread has run its course and is descending into insults. Passionate feelings, with some interesting debate. I have learnt that the anti SL brigade feel he treats the club as a plaything and risks his money, and the therefore the future of the club, over his sons friendship with the manager. At least I understand the nature of the disontentent, which I has not heard expplicitly before, as I am an infrequent visitor to OTIB. I cannot see any logical basis for why SL would act like that but hey ho, it is a time of conspiracy theories. I hope we finish strong and that we have a noisy, packed positive AG for the last two games. COYR.
  15. Wow! There is nothing I can say to that.
