  5. Rovers at Ashton Gate

Regarding the ground sharing situation in 82/83, I was told that although both boards were in general agreement it was alleged at the time that the then Rovers chairman (Mr. Dunsford senior) stated he would rather see the City "Go to the wall before he would have any ground sharing". i may be wrong with this but I was at the ground at the time when the discussions callapsed and this story was flying around at the time. Thank goodness it never happened!!!
  6. 19th May 1977 - THAT Match and an interview with Jimmy Hill

Remember this occasion very well, probably one of the best days while supporting city. The only time in those days where both sets of fans were congratulating each other and dancing on the pitch rather than chasing each other ready for a ruck. The local constabulary were totally lost on how to handle the situation, some even lost their helmets. Very debatable on the late kick off, we were at the back of the away end when the announcement was made, looked over the wall, there were only a handful of city supporters at the turnstiles. But all turned out well, probably the only time we could thank "the chin" for anything.
