  1. Delivery of new home kit

Hi all, Sorry to start a new thread on the kit. I was just wondering if anyone who pre-ordered the new home kit and asked for it to be delivered has received it? The only reason I ask is that when I ordered the away one, DPD delivered it, and they sent a message the day of delivery telling me a time that it would be there. I haven't had an email today, just wondered if anyone else was the same? Cheers
  2. New Purple Away Kit - Delivery

They did say in the advert of you pre ordered the new away shirt, you should receive it a week before it goes on general sale.
  3. New Purple Away Kit - Delivery

Just had a message from Juan at the club shop. The courier sent the message out by mistake, the shirts/kits are being dispatched today by Bristol Sport, but should be out for delivery either tomorrow or Friday by courier, so you should be receiving a new email soon Just thought I would update anyone that wanted to know, and thanks for the responses.
  4. Hi there, sorry if the post is in the wrong area. I was just wondering if anyone else had a message from DPD today saying that there was going to be a delay in the new away kit arriving as Bristol Sport had not yet sent them the package to deliver. It just says that they will contact me with my new delivery details when they have them, although they managed to send an email last week telling me it was going to be delivered today. Now just trawling through my emails to find my receipt to see if i can contact anyone at Bristol Sport to find out when this could be, but just wanted to see if anyone else had the same! Cheers
  5. Happy or disappointed....

I personally think that the club have had a great transfer window, if you actually sit back and reflect on who we have brought in and also to the who we have kept it has been one of our best windows for a long time (i.e Flint, Smith and Bryan) We got a record league fee for a striker who has only had one season in the Championship, albeit a great debut season, this time last year the majority of us didn't even know who he was, plus he no longer wanted to be here. I don't think you should ever keep anyone at the club that does not want to be there, nothing ever positive will come from that! We have brought in a relatively unknown Swedish international to replace him, so who knows this time next year we could have a similar asset on our hands!! People are already saying that Abraham won't last the season, who knows maybe he won't, but I for one think we have a real gem. You can already see that he has a bit more up top than we have been used to in the past, I mean by a footballing brain, and can see he has been coached at the highest level! I am going to enjoy watching him whilst he is with us. I can I only see positives going forward, we still have a couple of injuries to come back, and Smith with be like having a new signing join. He and G O'Neil ( who I think is the best signing of the window) will provide a great midfield engine, and will allow Tomlin, Patterson, O,Dowda, Reid, Freeman to go and create/score. I am looking forward to see what the season brings, so sit back, strap in and enjoy the ride, who knows where we could go!!
  6. Cotterell Sacked [confirmed]

Well maybe we should have been more realistic and not targeted a £9 million pound striker in the first place, who was topping the charts in goal scoring I this league, jesus, we got promoted from League 1 not relegated from the Premiership!!!! SC brought all of this on himself, with his inability to change! He would not in anyway deviate from the beloved 3-5-2 for nation. People will tell you he did at Derby and look what happened, well just look who played that night, we had 4 centre halves on the pitch at once! As I said before, worked wonders last year, but in a better league against better opposition/managers, you have to be able to change tact, when things are not going well! There was never a Plan B, and his in game management this season was atrocious! I will never forget last season, and the joy that man brought to our club, so I truly thank him for that! I will not however miss his post match interviews from this season, the constant whining and excuse after excuse that was given why we didn't win the game, it was starting to get embarrassing! As it has been said by numerous fans that you need to show support, well I do, and that is to the club, not to one man! No matter what happens this season, I will still no doubt be renewing my season ticket, cause we just do!
  7. Cotterell Sacked [confirmed]

Seriously we are brining up this old arguement? How many times have we been told that wages were never the problem, players like Gray & Gayle never wanted to come here! There was only one way that this was going to end, with the owner saying that wages/fees were never a problem and SC saying we could not compete financially! There are plenty more managers out there, but not so many wealthy people out there willing to push a club forward out of his own pocket, just ask the other side of Bristol, how they would kill for a wealthy backer!!! Maybe we should have been targeting more realistic targets in the summer, or not just targeting players that can play in one formation!!!! Managers live and die by what happens on the pitch, last season it worked well, albeit against more inferior players/managers! Opposition managers have been saying all season they know how we will set up, how we will play, and knew our weaknesses! You cannot continue to manage a team based on past glories! Maybe SL and the board heard what he said on Tuesday after the game, that we will continue to play the same way, same formation, as that is the way they know how to play, well that has worked well all season!! I don't know what SC thought he would achieve, by playing the same players, same formation, same system week in week out, guess what you get the same results!!! My only criticism of the board is that this should of happened straight after the Charlton game!!! Thanks for last year Steve, but the club will move on, we always do!
  8. I agree the manager should not shoulder all of the blame, but also he is not free from total criticism in this mess we are in! His job is to identify the right players who he thinks will help the team, and as of the QPR game no list had been supplied to the board of potential targets! This is what worries me the most, as he has been moaning about it since the window shut in the summer. So I would of hoped he would of been proactive over this period, scouting up and down the country for new talent, and who meets the budget requirements that he is constrained to! What blame can be put at the mangers door is his constant use of a playing system, that no other manager adopts in the league, and continues with this hoping it works! He retired our most experienced Championship player in the summer, saying there was no place in the squad for him, but then continues to flog a 37 year old to death up front! We need to stop living in last season, yes it was great, but it is in the history books now! If we are not carefully we will be right back where we started and then last season was all for nothing!
  9. You should of been sitting where I was sitting on Boxing Day, there were plenty of them already!!! I wasn't in that camp before, but I am getting increasingly frustrated with the man, I can't listen to his pre-match / post-match interviews, as we are fed the same old rubbsish, everyone's fault except his! Well at this moment in times he is solely responsible for the mess that we are in, he is the only one that can change things on the pitch, and the only one who has final say on transfers, as well all know if he doesn't like them, they won't play! I don't swallow the whole story about Bennett, saying he only went elsewhere for more money. He went elsewhere as he would be playing for a team much higher than us, for a manager he respects, and one that won't play him in a position that is alien to him! For christ sake SC has been banging on about players needed since 2nd Sept, that being the case I would of expected him to have a list as long as your arm of potential targets, that have been scouted to hand to the board, but we all know that is not the case!!! Of course we have to work within a budget, it's not as though we are targeting the Messi's/Ronaldo's of this world! I think SC needs to set his sights a little lower, it's not as though we are the only club having to do that, and they all seem to be able to bring someone in! But no, we have to wait until the end of the window, that is when our work can be done, yeah cause that plan worked so well in the summer!!!

    Sorry wrong thread!

  12. Elliott Bennett (MERGED)

I don't think we never decided not to match the wages, it had been widely reported we offered Gray more than he was offered at Burnley, but he chose Burnley due to them have a better chance at reaching the Premiership! Likewise with Gayle, he opted to take his chances with staying with a Premier League Club, which at the time he started to get game time! I think we aimed for players who were totally out of reach for a team who just returned to the Championship! Jesus wasn't Gray one of the top scorers in the league last year? SL has said the funds are there, but as of the QPR game he said he has not received a list of targets! He can't do anything about that, that is down to two people, one who seems untouchable by some on this forum, and the other hasn't been heard since pre-season last year!! I refer to a post in another thread, my worry is that we do not have many contacts that we canuse! As mentioned many times it is well known our manager does not have many friends in the game, maybe he is not able to call in as many favours as others!
  13. Can you hear the board?

I agree, we did hear from them more last year, but isn't that always the way? On the other side we didn't have too many posts complaining about them either, and I don't recall seeing many posts praising them for their part in the early transfer activity! As mentioned before SL has come out to say funds are avaliable, I am not sure what else can be said! I am sure he won't of come out and said that funds are avaliable if they are not, what benefit would that be to him! Maybe he is listening to the fans and leaving football decisions to 'people' who are deemed to have more knowledge, I do not know!
  14. Can you hear the board?

I don't know why we should be expecting the board to come out and say anything, you don't hear board members of other clubs coming out and saying things, unless you are people like Perez or Simon Jordan. We have heard recently from the horses mouth that the funds are there, and wages can be matched, for the right players. Yes we all know we are trying to adopt a model for players under 24, but that hasn't stopped SL putting his hand in his pocket to bring in an unproven Ligue 2,26 year old, so he is willing to break this model if the right players are identified!! My main concern is that SC has been banging on about players/funds etc for the first half of the season, and come the QPR game SL stated he has not been given a list of potential targets by the manager! Whether that is down to SC or KB to provide this list I don't know! My worry is that maybe these 2 don't have a long list of contacts that they can call upon, we all know from others in the football world that our manager does not have many friends, and at this time of the year he needs all the friends he can get! P.s I know it is my first post, I am not Gas, I have read the forum for a number of years, I am just a concerned Red like you guys!
