  1. He wasn't that good, but he stood out from the other post '82 youngsters as he was the only one that was genuinely tall. That was enough to get him in the team The rest of the youngsters in that era (apart from Rob Newman) were a bunch of midgets
  2. Your comparison would make more sense if you got Don Revie's name right
  3. That's easy to say but you're not the one underwriting the debt There's also a sensible element in the fan-base who haven't forgotten the lessons of 1982
  4. Yeah I remember that. It was in a home against Millwall when City were 2-0 up and cruising.......but then Brian Drysdale made a suicidal backpass. Cashley saved a certain goal but was injured in a crunching collision with a Millwall player. He was taken off injured and John Galley went in goal. We quickly conceded 2 goals and ended up drawing 2-2 in a game we should have won comfortably.
  5. Aye, but more significantly, he was never the same goalkeeper after that incident IMO.
  6. Yes, Melilla is the other Spanish enclave in Morroco - strange place, I caught the ferry from there after exiting Algeria. Also, quite hypocritical of the Spanish to keep banging on about Gibraltar when they've still got those two ports in Morocco.
  7. He scored in both games but Bobby Shinton and Mickey Thomas were the standout players for Wrexham. Talking of Dixie McNeil, John Sillett wanted the club to sign him on while he was playing for Lincoln, but Alan Dicks And Tony Collins rejected it. The on going dispute was the reason Sillett left the club.
  8. It's very close between Mile Gibson and Jan Moller as best all time goalkeeper. Gibby was a tremendous keeper but his kicking wasn't the best. He could barely reach the half way line from a goal kick and a lot less when kicking into the wind. I would therefore give Moller the edge because he didn't have any weaknesses. For those who haven't seen him, he was a giant of a goalkeeper and really intimidated forwards in one-on-one situations.
  9. The fastest player running and dribbling with the ball is Maradonna.
  10. I was there. One of the greatest games of all time.
  11. Warnock lost his mojo after the Emiliano Sala plane crash - he's just a shell of his former self.
  12. His name was Geert Meijer (Meyer).............not to be confused with goalkeeper Jan Moller
  13. Scorers : Mar 1 1969 Fulham (H) Garland 2, Galley, Sharpe, Skirton, Ryan og
  14. This one should be in the QPR list................ http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/
