  1. What we’re up against...

Agree . Russell huffed and puffed but quite often his final ball was poor . Our defence made them look ordinary however
  2. What we’re up against...

Yes it is interesting that the media still regard and describe us as " unfancied " BCFC but I wouldn't swap any of our players for any of theirs last night ( Tim hat on !) my argument being that the team work , support and creative way we play , our players are still learning and I think we have yet to see the best . There is no better back line than ours in the Championship . All the focus last night on the penalty but IMO Derby were poor and disjointed with some egos getting in the way , frustrated by our lads total commitment . We are not the finished article yet but keeping this squad together is essential . Chris Hughton ( excellent manager imo ) took 2 to 3 years to get Brighton promoted and did not spend the money which Wolves , Villa and Derby have . Nor did David Wagner at Hfield . These clubs are kind of our role models .
  3. What we’re up against...

Fordy . Strong Derby bench for sure and clearly that will stand them in good stead . Notwithstanding that , our collective strength , way of playing and organised around a rock like spine of Fielding , Flint, Smith and Bryan is arguably stronger than Derby . Last night , some Derby commitment was questionable ( Huudlestone , Vydra , Thorne ) and our team work and energy wore them down . The media focus on the game ( 5 live ) " Derby controversially denied penalty as they fail to beat BCFC" typically isolating what they saw as the pivotal moment in the game , whereas over the 90 minutes , City more than matched their " illustrious " opponents and IMO played more sophisticated football than them . " Sum of parts " is spot on and has in the past got success for less fancied teams . There are many to quote I am sure but Cloughs Forest come to mind with their spine of Shilton , Lloyd , O'Neill and Birtles . As you say , it is great times for BCFC especially compared to how we have improved since last season .
  4. What a difference with mobile target man.

Yes , agree . Lot of positives . Sometimes our playing out of defence can be nerve racking but last night it was composed , calm and frustrated the likes of russell and Vydra . Lot of post on last night ref Magnússon . For me , first half at LB an assured performance and good up field deliveries . Clearly nervous at CH in second half but for me he is growing into an essential part of the set up . Flint was immense last night as was Bailey Wright . I left Pride Park with optimism .
  5. What a difference with mobile target man.

Agree totally . His contribution despite short on fitness was outstanding against a top team . The first 20 mins of second half we were 100% on top and Keogh and Curtis Davies were flaky . It was a big shout by LJ bringing FD on but IMO it worked . When Fammy gets match fit , we are going to be some force with Bobby able to find the spaces. All round a good night up there . Just as a PS another great effort from 543 City fans who made their presence felt all game . Good times . COYR
  6. Marlon Pack

Yes . Steele did well , made a couple of really god saves . I thought Mags did well behind JB .
  7. Marlon Pack

Fielding MOM until he got injured . Kept us alive
  8. Marlon Pack

They did not set the world even half alight . They were devoid of ideas . Constantly feeding Russell who ran round in circles with no end result . Pack had another excellent game against the " form " team . Derby took off Lawrence who for me was their only real threat . Huddlestone did not want to know and Vydra up front as shackled by Flint and Bailey Wright .
  9. Steve McClaren

Was he talking Dutch or double Dutch . ?
  10. Bobby Reid

Vydra and co were their usual petulant arrogant selves and as you say totally shown up by our one striker . I was at the game and for Derby were very ordinary , not as effective as Norwich . Great result for City . Things on the up .
  11. Marlon Pack

Hocca . Absolutely . Again tonight immense whether shutting down Russelll and Lawrence or. Hearing clear and good forward passing . Key player .
  12. The Derby County v Bristol City Match Day Thread 28

We do well on Sky . Price of our success on way to Pride Park . Draw would be good
  13. How do we get result at Derby?

Keep Vydra quiet ( Aidan ) and stop Russell ( Pack ) would be significant . Our away record is still exceptional so I have a good feeling about tonight . Derby are on a good run but the championship Is massively unpredictable . We have lost x 3 league games recently . Cardiff lost x 4 then bounced back . Our league position is still strong so if we can come out of tonight with a point , we go into the next games with win written all over them . COYR .
  14. Peaky Blinders

Aberama Gold. Alfie Solomons . Johnny Dogs . Great creations to name just 3 .
