  1. The Chants Thread (merged)

Based on that Zlatan Ibrahimovic song to the tune of yankee doodle dandy: "Matty Taylor left the Gas Cos Rovers is a shithole Joined the boys at Ashton Gate The only team in Bristol Number 10, he scores for fun playing as a striker joined the reds from the blue few he only cost a fiver"
  2. The Chants Thread (merged)

How about to the tune of electric avenue, in place of the chorus: "We're gonna sing for you, Famara Diedhiou, and Bobby Reid's on fire" The Diedhiou would need elongating to 'dee-aay-jew'. I still don't know how you pronounce his name though
  3. Eni Aluko / Mark Sampson (Merged)

Can anyone tell me what this safeguarding is that the FA guy keeps banging on about, he's throwing a lot of words around and not saying a great deal
  4. ffs another Friday game. And there was the concern that if we ever made it to the promised land we'd lose 3pm kick offs in the Prem. Old bill are going to love a couple 1000 Cardiff fans running around the city centre pissed up after the game too
  5. Another striker coming in?

It's not a baseless analogy at all. If you truly believe the other striker options available last season would have got the same tally of goals as TA then you're deluded. We survived by the skin of our teeth with Tammy in the team, without his goals we'd have been relegated by March.
  6. Another striker coming in?

So you would rather we be in league 1 this season? Because that's where we would currently be
  7. South Stand last night

A guy walking into the SS ahead of me before the Millwall game had a rucksack, steward saw it and told him he shouldn't have it, but let it in regardless. Get the impression for some that the rules are more hassle than they're worth.
  8. Positives and concerns

I wouldn't class losing someone like Magnússon as being a major concern, he's miles away from a starting position. Joe Bryan has been fantastic so far this season and looking very much a premier league left back in the making, losing him would leave a very big hole
  9. Changes for the Villa game?

John Terry will find it much easier to have a physical battle with Famara than trying to keep up with a quick striker pulling him all over the pitch; I wouldn't be shocked to see Reid and woodrow/taylor
  10. Who's the mystery injury?

It ain't GON, I saw him pushing his child up park street yesterday, wasn't struggling with the incline!
  11. The Millwall Debacle

re Paterson I don't think he was as bad as being made out, certainly not the worst performance today. Korey Smith was abysmal and a complete passenger. I thought Joe had a good game all things considered.
  12. Ratings

Thought Marlon sprayed one or two nice balls around but on the whole neither he or Korey did enough to be effective in the centre, I don't think either really have the awareness to offer much protection to the centre backs, a better team would have put a few past us today. If he's fit enough, GON should start next game, he imposed himself, got involved and did more than Pack and Smith for me. We went long far too much and played too much in the air, Famara was disappointing but he had little service in dangerous areas. Thought Reid did ok but again had no support. Brownhill and Paterson aren't wide men, they're always looking to come inside, we've made the pitch smaller and there's not the space for them when a team sits back like Millwall did. Joe Bryan very good again, Baker and Wright were comfortable, Millwall's frontman weren't exactly threatening though.
  13. LJ today's speaker at Senior Reds

The same man who has a clothing brand called 'the loyal love', oh the irony
  14. When Will The Squad Be Complete?

I have major concerns about our scouting set up, we seem to bring in players and then realise they're not up to the job we'd brought them in to do, or that they no longer fit the system. Hegeler for example, not mobile enough to be a central midfielder in a two, can only play in a 3 which LJ isn't doing. Taylor Moore, a £1.5m (?) signing, Hörður Magnússon (£2m?), with that outlay you'd expect them to be somewhere near the first team of a lower table championship team, but clearly they're not good enough in LJ's eyes otherwise we wouldn't have gone out and got Wright and Baker. At LJ's own admission the way they found Eliasson was stats driven (football manager??), does he have the necessary attributes to make it in a physical league, or will he go a similar way as Engvall?
  15. Sell him on, wish him well and invest the money in a championship standard defensive midfielder who can better screen our back 4.
