About South stander

  1. Team v Millwall

I know it was quite predictable, but do I win a prize for predicting the starting 11 and subs a day before the match!
  2. Team v Millwall

well spotted, How could I forget Bryan!
  3. Team v Millwall

After a tough night on Tuesday with backs to the wall for 98 minutes, do we expect any changes for tomorrow? Maybe Hegeler back into the back 4? What about Woodrow starting? I expect not! Fielding Pisano Wright Baker Bryan Brownhill Pack Smith Paterson Reid Diedhiou subs Lucic O Dowda Hegeler Woodrow O Neill Eliasson Magnússon
  4. Time for GON? Need more bite in CM
  5. we haven't had much possession according to BBC stats and only 1 shot so far
  6. Next Round Draw

As someone said earlier, I don't really care, we have 2 important home games on the Saturday and then the Friday, so we can play the youngsters and forget about it
  7. Next Round Draw

BBC website showing we are at home
  8. Diedhiou

I was impressed as well, especially first half. Second half he seemed to run out of steam after he went chasing around. Tammy wouldn't waste his energy doing that and waited til he needed to get a shift on. What did disappoint was his shooting from range, never looked threatening and wasted some good opportunities. He even played an aimless ball into the box when he could have drove into the box and really put them under pressure. I think he will do good, but needs to get used to the league and team mates. Overall a great start to his City career.
  9. Team for Saturday

I can see Hegeler and Wright starting at the back on Saturday and thought they did really well on Friday, but have big concerns about Hegeler defensively. He seems to shy away from a header and can't see him making many crunching tackles. As long as he is protected in the role, he can be a big asset in moving the play forward quickly. Not long now, can't wait.....
  10. Currently in France...

When I retire to France, it will be cheaper than my season ticket
  11. Team V barnsley

Fielding Pisano Wright Hegeler Bryan Brownhill Smith Pack Paterson Reid Diedhou O Dowda will be a great impact player after 60 minutes and give lots of energy. He could be a starter in the near future, but Brownhill and Paterson looked good on Friday and deserve a start. I think LJ will start with Hegeler (if Flint goes) and hope he can be effective as a ball player and not need to do too much defensively. It will then revert to Wright and Baker as a starting CB pairing. Interesting to see who plays against Plymouth, plenty of chances for players to impress. Engvall to start in the mid week match?
  12. Barnsley's end of season form

I have been chatting to a Barnsley season ticket holder who has seen a few of the pre season matches and is struggling to work out who the players are, she says there wont be many if any the LJ will recognise. She did say they were doing ok (that was before the Rotherham match). First game of the season, so who knows what will happen, but would hope we should have enough to get a win, 1-0 would do. We need a good start to the season.
  13. I think Flint or Magnússon will be leaving. Really disappointed with Magnússon who's passing was awful last night. The match changed dramatically after half time when the CB's changed and they seemed to slow it down. Hegler looked good, but not sure how he will cope defensively. He doesn't seem to want to head the ball and cant see him going into crunching tackles. Looks like Wright and Baker as regular starting CB, with Magnússon as cover. one questions about last night, why didn't Moore not get on the pitch? I was impressed by Pisano, but where is the cover?
  14. Which one player would be the biggest loss to City ?

O Dowda for me, he has the most potential to become a big player (probably at another club though) in the coming years.
  15. City v Palace play offs 2008

I agree, incredible night. That penalty save was incredible. So many emotions in that match.
