  1. Barry Bannan?

He is better than Smith and Brownhill put together.
  2. Barry Bannan?

Started the breaks Wednesday hit us on yesterday on 3 occasions, not his fault Rhodes screwed two of those chances. Also came forward on his own once, beating two of our players and went down through on goal, no penalty given but his move was that of a player of quality. Another time he broke through with a couple of quick one twos and just as he was gonna unleash a shot, Gary Hooper got in his way and the ball fell loose. He also looked to make a good out the box strike which was on target in the second half which Flint blocked. So for all you say he didn't break us down, he created 4/5 key moments for Wednesday and but for a no penalty, block, his own player getting in his way and 2 wasted chances from Rhodes I would say his contribution was better than the rest of his team, and he would serve up the chances the likes of Taylor and Bobby need. Sad;y Pack and Josh just don't do that and he is the sort of player we need. Yes he would cost 10m to buy and prob 30-35K a week, but with 100m the forecasted minimum you get for getting to the Premier League, and 25K+ a week for a player in the Premier League (a lot of the bigger teams paying that in this league and we've a few around the 20K mark) he would not be as unrealistic as people think if we are determined to get to the top flight this season. Wednesday are under performing, and are already 7pts adrift of us, and 5 adrift of the playoffs. They have two tricky away games to come, whilst we have a couple of winnable ties coming up. It would be no surprise if we were 10pts clear of them coming into December. If we can remain 3-6pts off an automatic spot going into January, and have a team like Wednesday 6-7pts off the Playoffs and 10-12pts off us which is very much a possibility, players like Bannan would not be thinking of us as Little Bristol City and if it is their desires to play Premier League football, we might be more of an attractive proposition than some fans think. After all, last year Jordan Rhodes went to Wednesday as he saw them as a strong playoff team with a huge chance of going up and he felt he should be playing for Boro in the Prem, we was not signing for Wednesday to be playing for a mid table Championship team. Bannan wants to be playing again in the Prem, he has said that. He is also the voice of the players at Wednesday and is very frustrated with his team mates and has said the team should be doing better. He is not a happy player and is doing the work of 2-3 players. Wednesday may not be a selling club but with 18 months left and under performing, they would never want to take the risk of not selling in January or in the Summer only for them not to fire next season and him leave on a free at the end of next season. We are probably most attractive at present and January could be the time to strike if Johnson is true in that he believes he's the best midfielder in the league and would love to have him here. Bannan will definitely be aware of Johnson's admiration for him, and our league position and promise and opportunity to be a key player in a promotion challenging side will definitely be an attraction to him, despite what Wednesday fans think. If we fail to go up, or make the playoffs, in the summer we will not be an attractive proposition to this type of player. January is the time to try and turn his head. If like Bannan has said (was livid when club rejected 6m from Hull in August) he wants to be in the Premier League again and that's his ambition and not money. Realistically if we agreed a fee with Wednesday (10M would do it) there is no reason why he wouldn't take his current wage (rumoured about 25K a week) or a slight add on with a promotion bonus and sign for us. A signing like Bannan would definitely send out a we mean business call, and might help signing of a prolific striker in January as he's exactly the type of player Strikers look to feed off.
  3. Barry Bannan?

£10m would do the trick and if we have any ambition to get promoted it would be £10m well spent. Bring him in and a quality number 9 and the jigsaw may well be complete to challenge for promotion.
  4. Car registration plates

I saw two plates on city fans cars today, which both ended in Red.

    Thank you.
  6. Sheffield Wednesday away (Merged)

Is there any news whether this will be pay on the day or not ?
  7. According to Flash Scores, Hörður is a keeper !!!
  8. City vs Manchester - Dustbin Thread (merged)

It amazes me that people are angry with the guy. If the club had any sense they would contact Ebay for sellers details and cancel his purchase and issue a written warning to him. Reselling of football tickets is illegal unless they are VIP tickets, as brokers and agents buy them off clubs to sell. A lot of clubs sell an allocation to Viagogo and Stubhub to sell on their behalf. Morally wrong, but I know for a fact Man City, Man Utd, Everton and Celtic all sell direct to these companies. Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal used to but they now, quite correctly have set up their own fans ticket exchanges.
  9. City vs Manchester - Dustbin Thread (merged)

Disappointed the club didn't sell an allocation to Stub Hub and Viagogo, that's how most big ticket companies work, shame on Bristol City !
  10. bunch of bandits

A trophy Mourinho has stated he wants to win? Did you see his line up against Swansea? It was strong. Strongly rumoured will be Ibrahimovic first game back too.
  11. bunch of bandits

I've not complained about the price nor paying it.
  12. bunch of bandits

If you are VIP club, you only get access to buy VIP club tickets for the game, not general tickets from what I have been told.
  13. bunch of bandits

Your lucky they offered you a Diamond VIP for £600 for your son, I've just paid £2040 for 2 Diamond packages and £450 for two of us for Manchester United, the pricing on the hospitality for the game however is bang on the money and priced correctly, it's not costing you a grand to watch the game, as £600 of that is a half season ticket for your son.
  14. An interesting problem in January

Personally think we'll look to bring in 3 players. We need an attacking midfielder with a touch of quality and experience, and I think this will be our main January target and will look to sign someone who is top 6 Championship standard with Premiership experience. I also think with the injuries we need a Striker and a Full back. I wouldn't be surprised if we looked for an out of favour Premier League player on loan, with the potability to purchase in the summer if all went well.
