  1. Derby Vs Cardiff (Merged)

EFL remain satisfied with the reasons behind the postponement: https://www.efl.com/news/2018/march/efl-statement-derby-county-v-cardiff-city/?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral No further action - just a little warning to Derby surrounding their communication in the matter.
  2. Corner kicks.

This is what I have always done with corners also. Easy to whip a nice ball in when you can get underneath it via the flattened white line. Isn't the rule that only a part of the ball has to be over the white line anyway? I see people kicking off about where a kicks being taken from and it always looks perfectly legal. Even seen referees ask players to move it back when it appears to be fine.
  3. Renewed or not renewed. Please post here

Can't really afford to renew but I probably will just before the deadline. Partly in protest, partly because I leave everything until the last minute.
  4. Mark Ashton was right

This place is unbearable when we aren't winning games. After the crap we went through last season I'd like to think most people would have been extremely grateful to be guaranteed another season in the Championship at this point of the season. Play-offs would be a great bonus and we are still in the hot seat, for now. With a game against Sheffield Utd to come later in the season, you could argue that it's still in our own hands even if they pick up 3 points tonight. We're hardly going to throw a few games because we 'are not prepared for promotion'. I'm sure some might argue that we've been doing that already this year...
  5. Cardiff Tickets - The Facts

Exactly this! I was writing something very similar before I saw your post come up. Quite how they thought imprisoning that many fans into one pub would go down well I do not know. I wanted some fresh air at one point (we'd been in there for breakfast early doors) and apparently I wasn't even entitled to that whilst we had to wait a lifetime for the escort to show up. During the escort, literally every turning/alleyway had a collection of Cardiff fans ready to welcome us. There were as many, if not more of their fans playing up outside the escort as there were our fans within it that's for sure. It was a mess all round.
  6. Am I Being Annoyed For No Reason?

It bugs me too, especially as it's the same two guys checking my ticket every game. It must be working though as a chap that used to stand by us had a ticket elsewhere but always got in with us - haven't seen him the last 4 or 5 games.
  7. One funny moment always stands out for me, forgive me if this has been mentioned already. I can't recall the finer details but it must've been sometime in the early/mid 00's where a ball got hoofed onto the roof of the Williams stand, everyone assumed that the ball was stuck up there after 10 seconds or so and carried on. The ball decided to make a reappearance after a small delay and came rolling back off right onto a stewards head.
  8. New Training Ground

There are quite a few mentions of bad handling but the objection below stood out most. It also includes a line about BCFC players language: 'The last time we were involved with Bristol City Football Club we had to amend our 13th Hole at a cost and considerable disruption to our club and members. On this occasion Bristol City Football Club have been in discussion with our Chairman and Committee and listened to our comments but completely ignored them in their Planning Application. We discussed with Bristol City FC the provision of a "Buffer zone" between their pitches and our 12th hole but they have included one on OUR land. This will mean us having to alter our 12th hole again at whose cost? and considerable disruption again to the club and membership. Bristol City Football players are noisy and use a considerable number of expletives. We currently experience this when we stand on our 14th Tee. I have also noted that BCFC intend raising the levels of the adjacent field which will alter the water table on the golf course unless adequate drainage facilities are provided.'
  9. New Training Ground

There's now around 100 extra objections to this since I last looked. 151 Object, 1 Support, 1 Neutral. Most of the objections still seem to be using the same template: '125 years' 'stray footballs' '12th hole' 'drainage issues' 'noisy footballers' 'BCFC bad handling'. One new comment I see mentions the preservation of a dark sky because of the nearby Astronomical Society. Interesting.
  10. saturdays ref James Linington from Newport

Given that the game will likely 'flow' in the same way as the Burton fixture, could be an easy point for Sunderland if they want it. Waste all the time you like, probably won't get booked for it and don't panic because if City do score, the ref will find a way to rule it out anyway. I should be over it by now really...
  11. Cardiff Tickets

I thought the same thing but then remembered that us football fans are all the same aren't we...
  12. Now TV / Sky Passes

Result! I probably could have done the same after a month then rather than paying full price for a year or so. It was only when money got a bit tight I went to cancel and found out how much less I could have been paying.
  13. Now TV / Sky Passes

I think the offers are personalised and based on length of time you've had the package. I'm in a recurring cycle with Now TV offers at the moment. I have Sports, Entertainment and Movies and cancel them every 3 months to get a better deal for the next few months. Each package ends up being between 50% - 80% off the start price. At the moment, the 3 packages together are coming in at about £20 when the start price for all 3 is just over £50. Wouldn't be surprised if you'd need to have paid a certain number of months at full price before offers are granted - I did so for a quite a while before I realised.
  14. New Training Ground

Agreed. It's absolutely ridiculous. Any sign of the city moving forward is jumped on by those who are all too comfortable with the way things are. Most of which fail to see, or even acknowledge that their could be, a greater picture. So long as they are happy, nothing else matters. In this situation there has quite clearly been some sort of communication at the golf club as almost every objection is identical. I'm all for people having their own opinions on such matters but the majority of these aren't their own opinions, a few people have told them what to say and 90% of the objections are recycled crap as a result. This frustrates me more than it probably should...
  15. New Training Ground

'do not feel the golf club should change as has been there for 125 years of this year.' Such a Bristol comment.
