  1. “Hard Sun” BBC trailer - Ashton Gate?

    New Den?
  2. 1-0 away from a cup final...

Beat Man City 1-0 and we’re off to Wembley! What a position to be in.... whatever the outcome it should be a memorable night at the Gate in a few weeks time. Just need to make sure those lucky Portishead u11 Players are there!
  3. The Derby Redemption

I thought we were here in complete control in the first half. If we had come off at half time 2 or 3 up it would have not been an unfair position. As per LJs comments, second half just needed to be more of the same. It was and we got the goals that you would hope would come from 90 mins of performance at those levels. I agree with you that Leko was a little out of position at times, but he is young, still learning and new to the squad. I am sure this part of this game will improve in the coming months. Going forward was great to watch and always a danger. He had a couple of iffy moments when he first came on, coming to deep and getting caught without the space in perhaps needs to play into. But was fine after that and no one can argue with the classy finish for his goal. No performance is perfect and there is always room for improvement but today I thought we looked like pure class all over the pitch. A day to be proud of everything that is Bristol City. Perhaps the one area that could still be improved is the support from the stands... was good yesterday but we can be better!
  4. Monaco - how to run a football club

They also have the tax haven advantage versus other clubs in attracting players.
  5. ICYMI Rucksacl/Large Bag ban at AG

This is unworkable. I have no issue having my bag checked but to ban rucksacks is effectively a ban on kids and cyclists. I often take my kids to the Gate and need a rucksack for warm clothes, drinks etc. If I don't have the kids I often cycle... and I need a rucksack to carry a change of clothes and cycle helmet. I went to Wimbledon a few weeks back and I was able to take a rucksack... surely Ashton Gate can find a workable solution other than a complete ban.
  6. LJ speaks..

As his employee what could the club do about it? You can't force someone to move where they live. And even if there was clause in his contract that was Bennet broken, what can the club do? Terminating his contract would only be an option if you are willing to give up a transfer fee. But to be honest, as long as he is turning up as needed on time, I think the club would struggle to terminate his contract.
  7. New home kit (Merged)

The badge positioning on the original was ok - why have they screwed it up this time?
  8. New home kit (Merged)

I have to say, I am not that keen on the new kit personally. But then I was never found of the Hirerite kit other than it had nostalgic value. The thing that does my head in is that the Bristol Sport badge and Club Badge both straddle a pin stripe. The forest one above has been done properly where as the badge positioning on ours looks amateur. Annoying as small details like this often swing it for me.
  9. Bristol Rovers Dustbin Thread

Dropping the kerbs won't be a big job for the gash as they can save money by getting their first team keeper to do the work... I hear he is good at dropping things.
  10. Matty Taylor

I don't think is about hindsight. I was told by a gashead when we signed Matty Taylor that half of his goals came from the spot. Tomlin never fills me with confidence from the spot and has missed before. so whilst I did not expect Tomlin to miss, it did seem that with FORESIGHT that MT should have been given the spot kick.
  11. We wont lose today

Love this thread! Everyone can think things in the future but so many people present their opinions as facts. I hope a few of the previous posters don't delete any posts from this thread!
  12. He's Alive !!!! Rare Engvall footage...

Thought it was more funny that Engval struggled to remember the signing of Matty Taylor... mmmmm!
  13. Wade Elliott

Regardless of whether people believe the initial post can be relied upon, surely no one can think the dressing room is happy with LJ. 1. Certain players publically critiscised 2. Certain players who get their place back in the team without earning it and by comparison their mistakes never get a mention. 3. Chopping and changing the team both in personnel, formation and ethic so it's unrecognised from team that pulled us from safety last season with 3 months of promotion form. 4. The Lee Tomlin situation. 5. The Bobby Reid and Golbourne. 6. 8 defeats on the trott. There are many more. For including a month or so ago when Mark Little made a mistake in front on the dug out. LJ said something and Little lashed out at LJ which I was gobsmacked by. I mean... this is Mark Little not the emotional and arogent Lee Tomlin. This went unnoticed at the time but still sticks with me as the point I became sure the dressing room was lost. But right now bring on Sheffield Wednesday. I hope LJ picks our strongest team (not the team who he has fallen out with least) and plays to our squad strengths that saw the run at at the end of last season and start of this season. Regardless of the dressing room fall out (or not!) these players hopefully won't want to get relegated and will know the next two games could be the make or break of this season.
  14. Oooohhhh Basso!

An old school friend was watching FC United in their local derby vs Salford yesterday. This dude was in goal...
  15. Tuesday night
