  1. One of my favourites back in the day. A so called hard man. RIP Dickie
  2. If that’s true, and I know you’re not often wrong, this makes me even more angry. What a pair of sniveling cowards that father and son are. Be gone soon please.
  3. Worked in the Post Office ( Royal Mail) for 42 years as a postman, admin and a manager. Never once heard of either clubs mail being interfered with in any way. Agreed this was some years ago, but also the rivalry was stronger. Not like today where there’s a generation who haven’t seen a league game between us. But hey ho they’re coming for us!
  4. So, so sad. I can’t really believe this. Your heroes should live forever.
  5. Bit miffed that the only Android option is Google wallet. Since I’ve I had a Samsung phone for quite a few years now I’ve always used Samsung wallet for bank cards etc. Can’t do that with this ticket.
  6. Just been told that this will be on ITV. Don’t know how true but the info is usually good from this source.
  7. Would be ecstatic with a mid table finish. Looking at our forthcoming fixtures however I believe we might be in the bottom four at the end of the next 4/5 games. Like the O/P I didn’t get carried away with our early form. We still have the same defensive problems that Pearson inherited which, sadly, he hasn’t managed to address. This was always going to be highlighted when our goals dried up.
  8. Must be a lot of blokes who look like Greek gods posting on this thread judging by the amount of references to Tomlin’s weight. For the record I’m a fat bastard and wished I looked like him! I know it wasn’t often but he gave some great performances for us. I wish him well.
  9. The two that came into the cricket club were from Sunderland. Spoke to a number of their fans, evidently they send at least half a dozen to all their away matches.
  10. Worked with Stoney in the 70s. He was also on the door of the players bar in the 1st division days. More mates than players in there sometimes! Still always made it a point to shake hands and tell me his latest joke whenever I saw him. RIP Stoney.
  11. Obviously this will divide opinion. But please don’t say it’s not a City shirt, they were wearing these colours for my first game in 1957.
  12. 16th March 1957 v Bury. I was 9 and Ayteo scored after 12 seconds. Been downhill ever since!
  13. Agree with all on here - it was a great night. And I’m an old fart! One thing I noticed last night was the lack of those horrible lights above the vomitories (?) in the Dolman and Lansdown. Surely if they can keep them off for this why are they kept on for football?
  14. Saw this on Twitter. Anybody know about anything about this group? We love working with other heritage groups and we've recently been sharing some of our older programmes with the recently formed Bristol City Heritage and Archive Trust We've sent them scans of this April 1923 #CAFC v #BristolCity programme announcing our move to Catford https://twitter.com/CHATHMuseum/status/1528756594670026757/photo/1
  15. Nice for the Rovers. They’ll get to visit a proper football ground.
