£29 in the smoke is certainly 'not bad'!

Lovely if you don't need a good nights sleep, or toiletries for the shower the next morning.

Went to one in Fulham. Paid £35 for a Sunday night, and hugely relieved I didn't shell out another penny for this chain, like an oven in the room, no air conditioning, and the windows couldn't possibly be opened on the non road side for the noise of Icelands airconditioning units below. Bed is horribly uncomfortable, they give you one pillow (two for a double bed).

One bar of soap is all that was included in the room. If you were driving to the hotel, and litterally needed a stop over for the night, could bring a fan for the room, and shampoo etc, it may be bareable.

Horrible, horrible hotel chain

... you could say that

I wouldn't want anyone to not realise what they were signing up to, in my opinion it's not a good value hotel.

I'd like to think my own standards aren't outrageously above most other peoples..

Agree with everything in your original post, stayed in the Travelodge at Wembley last August room was disgusting, dodgy white stains all over the sofabed, no air conditioning, windows would not open, "West Ham" carved into the bathroom door, brown stains on the walls. At 130am I went out and slept in the back of my car! Having said that I stayed at the Travelodge Gatwick Airport and apart from the bed being awful everything else was ok for £29!!
