Remember it well got a bit carried away and ending up getting in the middle of Millwalls lot, ended up getting put in an escort, had to go and explain myself to a copper who nearly pi55ed himself, he did let me go though so I had the last laugh funny days.

I'm an England member and always get talkin' to other lads when we're playing, especially away games and it always starts with 'who do you support' and when ever I proudly say 'Bristol City' and I'm talking to Millwall they always perk up and say 'ooohhh, do you remember that time we came down and smashed up that bit by the car dealerships' .......... always a funny chat

Millwall at the New Den 1990's, around 100 of us on the train, got caught up in an escort at London Bridge and put on the tube to South Bermondsey, remember being taken through a small shopping centre and a lovely lady telling us to **** off you Caa**s in a lovely cockney accent before promtly spitting down the escalators at us. Then after being held for an eternity after the game only to be bombarded by rocks and other missles by teenage chavs on route back to the station.

think it was 1985.walsh missed a penalty and steve lovell scored near the end for millwall.

also remember teddy sheringham scoring a hat trick as they thumped us 4-1.always loads of trouble on the terraces,

remember millwall running into the dolman and being met with a hail of missiles.always plenty of broken glass outside after!

Millwall away, the infamous 'Skittles trip' organised by Acid. Ran the Bushwackers through the car park at the Old Den :bruce_h4h: but it was cold on the way home without any windows.

The police escort the whole way down the M4 was hilarious and the trip around Bristol City centre was fun as well.

Too many off field violence memories involving Millwall to mention, could right a book. Worst fight with Millwall fans was when we were playing Corinthiun Casuals in Dulwich in the FA cup. They turned up with knives longer than my legs. Not nice memories.

On the field, I remember John Fashanu pretending to be injured and rolling around in agony to get a free kick, then laughing at the crowd when he got the kick and sprinted off. Hated him from then on.

Mid to late 90s at the den. Pitch invasion by millwall fans at end of the game. City fans smash their way through doors under the stand and gets into the millwall end. Millwall fans then waiting at paddington station to give us a send off back to Bristol.

Early 90s milwall fans drinking in the orchard on spike island and coming charging down the back street with most city fans running back over gas ferry bridge I'm talking about 60 or 70 city fans more like 6-700 fans .

Remember a trip to The Den in the early 90s. 3 coaches went from the Isambard Brunel (now the Reckless Engineer). We stopped at some services on the way and it was like a plague of locusts had descended on them, there was nothing left in the shop!! For some reason we got dropped off at Tower Bridge and had to walk the last couple of miles. As we got to the ground( it was about 7.50 and the game kicked off at 7.30) they came from everywhere, reigning bricks and bottles down on us. It went off for a few minutes, before the Old Bill herded us into the ground, where we were shoved in the corner with Millwall either side. If memory serves me right, we won 2-1 with Mark Aizlewood and Andy May scoring. Happy Days!!

Remember that well. Old Mad Dog led the charge if i recall and it was the day after Millwall's shares had been suspended and we cheered the poor old souls up by singing 'Millwall's going bust' at them, or at least i think it cheered them up as they seemed desperate to get to us i presume to thank us for an hour or so after the game!

I think i have a memory of every time we've played them, but not too many of them i'll be repeating to the grandchildren!

Went to the Den on my 18th Birthday (april 1997 ??), obviously I was old enough to buy booze on that day and sneaked 8 cans onto the coach and the bloody things exploded in my bag.....nice smell of course, and just to add to this the coach got pelted by bricks on the way out of the den by a load of 10 year olds. Those were the days........ :winner_third_h4h:

I have many memories of Millwall games so I thought I would mention just a few from the early 70's and beyond

5-2 home win at the height of the Ted Heath inspired miners strike/power crisis. It must have been around about the time of the Leeds home and away matches and I bunked off school for the day...with dads knowledge...to get down to the game...

Or Millwall away Clive Whiteheads debut and a goalscoring one at that...in 73 I think...2-0 City win with the great Bobby gould getting a typical poachers effort....I will always remember walking to the ground with dad...you used to have to pass through a tunnel at Cold Blow Lane to get to the ground and this huge great docker came up to tell us out of nowhere how the mighty Millwall were gonna ******g 'ammer you ya *******g sheep S******g C***s (Redoxo was 10 at the time)...

And if my Guiness sodden brain is to be believed a 3-1 defeat away in about 71..notable for Ray Cashley being in goal in place of Gibbo...

What about 2-0 at their ground an evening match I think Torpey scored from a cross from the right in the first half and Micky Bell got one in the second

But my happiest memory was about 10/15 years ago when Sean Goater got a couple and we beat them 2-0...We were sitting in the Millwall end as we went to the game without tickets and this kindly old boy gave us a free one outside of the ground....bless him...And some enormous bloke walked over to us and said that aint no sarf London accent!!

I said nah mate Guildford and walked away preying dad was gonna keep his mouth shut tight...Happy days

I remember the night game others have mentioned here.

Myself - then 20, step brother (12) and Dad 50 were caught in traffic and late rushing towards the ground across the park when the old chap goes to have a pee behind a tree.

At that point out of the group of 7 big blokes in front one walks back.... comes right up to my face and says "next time you hear something bad about Millwall just remember we spared you coz you got the boy"

At that point my dad jogged up all smiley zipping up his flys going hi hows it going?!

I told him I'd explain later and it was probably best to get going!

So now when anyone says anything bad about Millwall - I agree!!!

wasnt their like 3 players sent off in that game???

Yeah think there was a few sendings off. Remember Carey put us ahead early on then they got a penalty to pull a goal back, then Lee Matthews stepped up to win it! This was in the same season which Millwall won the league as well

Lee Matthews smashing in a last minute penalty at Ashton Gate. I think it may well have been his home debut to? bosh!!

Was that the night that Sean Dyche was then captain of Millwall and their team proceeded to kick the proverbial out of the away changing room?!

Cracking game that, the place went mental when Matthews scored. Not only did the Millwall team try and wreck the changing rooms, but their fans decided to try and rip half of the seats out of the away section, and launch them over the back of the EE at the hordes of City who were waiting outside for them.

Mine is the same Away game a few have mentioned from 90's, (it was the 97/97 season from memory)..Big away crowd all singing your going bust to the tune of (footballs coming home), specifically to a section of their fans to left of us....

I think it was after we went to 2-0 up that they invaded the pitch with about 5 mins left (?) , and I remember being suprised that even though I was towards the back of the stands the coins and mud where getting so close...

What I remember mosty from that day though, was how long it took us to get back to the station due ot the police presence surrounding us, that completly disappeared as we reached the platform leaving us to be surround on both sides by Millwall fans, which included a couple of lads with Big angry dogs...

I can laugh about it now, but as an 18 year old who was on his first season of going to away games regualry It was a real leye opener...
