Taken a team that looked doomed when he took over to a comfortable mid table position.

A brilliant achievement - I Can only think of one other manager who has achieved similar this season!

Only difference is we have players who should be comfortably mid table.. do palace?

His achievement in saving Crystal Palace in such a short period of time is only matched by his audacious attempt to almost destroy our club in a similar timeframe.

The only reason I can bear to see him have some success is because it makes it less likely we will have the opportunity to offer him a job ever again.

He was hated here because he said it would take four years to sort things out and get promoted to the Championship. He was wrong, it took longer! When he left we were comfortably mid-table, people just didn't like the emphasis being on not conceding goals rather than scoring. Afterwards under Tinman we played more entertaining football but look how it all ended (at Swansea, near the foot of the table).

It was despairing to watch under Pulis...in much the same way as SoD  and Coppell were despised by many fans.

All saw how bad the set up was here...and realised it would take many years to create a Club that had a strong foundation and could play League football without continually yo yoing between mid divisions.

Plus as someone else has said... fans don't like being told the truth about their Club by an 'outsider' in much the same way as SoD and Coppell did ( cue EMB   )

Take away GJ's fantastic run...like many smaller teams do achieve occasionally ( think Bournemouth now )...take away that...and we've always been a Club that struggles to maintain any stability.

I look at teams like Stoke, Blackburn and Middlesbrough...and think there is no reason why we couldn't be like them in this modern day and age.

This is why I feel this Club needs a massive transition period to get that foundation in place...unfortunately I think it will never happen, as the mindset seems to run deep here...in short term fix's. We panic...

Fans, Board and owner all seem happy to keep going the way we have been and are just relying on a big slice of luck to get us their...pretty much like GJ had.

To 'get their'... we need all the right infrastructure in place to stop us coming back down.

If we can eventually sort that out...then maybe we could eventually achieve some sort of prolonged status in the Championship.

It's crazy when you think about the potential support and amount of money ploughed into this Club, that we still find ourselves in mid table, in League 1 ( Division 3 ) , after all these years of being run as a Professional Club.

Doesn't he hold the record for the most 0-0 draws in a season at City?

Bet the blue few wish they could have him now!

Wouldn't have thought so, he wasn't here long enough. I'd bet on that particular record being held by Russell Osman.

Well he may have been only just superseded by SOD as the worst City manager of all time, but you cannot argue with what he achieved at Stoke and has now achieved in comfortably keeping palarse up... credit where it's due.

Pulis was worse than SOD in my eyes.

Pulis took a team that was playing decent football in the Championship (but eventually ran out of games), and dismantled it by flogging Akinbiyi and letting Anderson go, to create a bland boring side.

SOD was taking a rubbish relegated team and was trying to put the pieces in place to play football the right way, however results were awful, I'd grant you that.

That Pulis season, I would have preferred to have stuck with Benny - he was just starting to turn things around, but we ran of out time as I said above.

Totally agreed.

He signed a load of old, injury prone journeymen on big wages which hampered us for years afterwards.

Pulis is the only manager we've had where I've seriously considered packing in going to watch.

Credit where it's due though, he has done a tremendous job at Palace. That squad should have no logical right to survive in the PL.

Middlesboro were battling with us for a few years in League 1...they went forward...we didn't.

Blackburn have always had a good set up, especially for such a small town.

It's only since their new owner has come in that it's gone downhill.

And it wasn't that long ago that Stoke were playing us in the LDV final...

It goes to show how bad some of our supporters opinions are when you see the likes of Pulis, Millen and others go onto work at a higher level.

Well not really. Different time, different situation.

And no point did any of those 3 look Prem quality, be it managing or playing.

If you can give me at least 5 situations each when they did then I'd agree with you.

Bolasie scored 1 important goal for us, that was it.

Millen and Pulis's record speaks for itself.

He was also the one who sold Jim Brennan and as part of the deal brought in John Burns from Forest. He explained that Burns would be the new Roy Keane. This was announced to a shocked crowd at one of the old AGMs when they were held at what was St George's School.

Bloke was a ****.
