Kid's Shirts

The Saturday Boy

Recommended Posts

Took my normal sized 10 year old boy to AG to get a shirt this morning. Home shirts not in, expected in 7-10 days. Tried away kit on and the age 10 won't go over his head, the age 12 is way too big. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Undo the buttons.

Yea I went in today. They did actually have the home kit but had sold out, Just popular I guess!!

You could have paid for it at the till and given them your address and they would have mailed it on arrival for free, well at least thats what I did.

Sizes did seem a little strange. My boy is 10 in august but had to buy him a 14 yo shirt. He is a little bigger but not 14 year old teenager bigger.

I'm in the same boat, bought my son an age 5 he's a normal sized 4 year old but the 4 wouldn't go over his head at all. Got the 5 on him but was tough to get over his head on and off... But thought it would improve the more he wore it ie: loosen up. He's worn it once and it took 5 mins t get off he cried his eyes out and doesn't want to wear it again if I keep pulling it off him it will soon tear... Major design fault.... I know 4 other people who have been to the gate and not bought as they can't get it over there child's head.... In fact 3 got the shirts stuck on there kids head in store.... Not sure how to approach with shop as worn for a few hours but is not useable now?!

I'd go back with it, if enough people have complained or even commented the sizing is out of proportion I'm sure they will be happy to exchange. You and your child don't need the upset and stress.

I thought it was common knowledge that children's heads are much bigger than their body size. Has the shirt manufacturer only made adult sizes before perhaps ?

I think they have only manufactured for rugby players before. Smaller brains, smaller heads. ;)

Also I thought an item had to be 'fit for purpose'. If a 4 year old gets stuck in a 5 year olds shirt then it clearly isn't. Go back and let us know how you get on, lots of people will be looking to kit out their children and will be interested in any info too.

Have they got any goalie shirts in yet?

They had keepers shirts when I was in the shop yesterday, adults. I didn't look to see if they had kids sizes though. Looks like they are getting more stock in day by day?post-61-0-36345200-1406628096_thumb.jpg

Oops, not sure why image posted sideways, not added an image before.

We went to city shop today for a kit to fit a nine year old would not fit over his head tried to more sizes up still would not fit

Asked why they said they knew that the shirt has this problem I asked why have them on show and in stock they should be sent back

I have to say left shop very disappointed with an up set son

It's not good enough if they all ready know about this

Lucky I took him with me to try on

Thought the staff would of offered to take my number and call me when they have fixed this with shirts

Instead they said try next week very poor customer service my son and I very proud of are club buys new kit every year

Would have been nice to have got one to take on holiday to promote are club

Hope Dave l reads this and with his contacts sort out with kit with shop

I went to the shop today and explained my situation... Shirt fits fine don't need bigger, don't need smaller the issue is the head size is out of proportion its a design fault, the lad was like oh right... I'll get you a bigger size for the head..... My reply well the kit would be too big then... Really I'd like a refund, can't do that. He then asked a senior member of staff for some advice she was great and said it's a well known issue and a definate design fault and has been reported we are waiting for a new collar design to arrive, can't say when maybe a few weeks time... Offered to call me when in or refund so took the immediate refund offer to avoid complication. Was really pleased with her assistance but still can't work out why if it's a problom 1) kits are atill for sale and 2) the message had not been communicated to all staff as had she not been there it would have turned into a debate/argument. Better communication needed. But happy with end results.

I think they should all be taken off the shelf. If someone goes into the shop to purchase one there should be a notice directing you to speak to a member of staff. The situation can then be explained and if you are 'lucky' enough to have a child with a small head or likes a huge shirt you can purchase one if you don't want to wait for the redesign.

This would stop people purchasing shirts and having the hassle to return them. Many may be being bought as presents to given in a few weeks time, or even being sent abroad so the problem won't be known for a while.
