P'head Red
We're doing what we need to do, I personally think we will see far more energetic and creative performances in the future, but in games like Saturday, there was no need for us to bust a gut in the second half, especially after they went down to 10 men. There has been some very nice, controlled play throughout the whole team, certainly in midfield where smith and Wade have done a very good job thus far in breaking up and creating play. The only time this season where we have been below par was the second half at Rochdale IMO, and lets not forget, we beat Sheffield United on the opening day, who are beginning to shape up nicely beating the likes of Peterborough. Confidence will be playing a big part in our form, and long may it continue, we have a good squad, and one that is very effective, be happy about it. Rocky
Our lot are yet to gel and haven't hit top form, so it's obviously encouraging we're top etc etc. I think a lot of the pre-season favorites are struggling to find their feet, Peteborough exempt possibly. I think after 10-15 games things will start leveling out a bit more and the better teams will start making themselves known.

WTFiGO!?!
I think a new found sense of confidence is at play here and fortune favours the brave. We've got a player who was captain at his former club, a player who told his former club, affectively, to 'do one', a guy who attracting rave reviews from all who saw him last season, Ayling doesn't seem to be shy, a guy who scored 26 goals an a promotion last season. Elliott has had a distinguished career at a higher level than this.... Seems Williams and Flint are finding their feet, it appears it's rubbing off. Joe Bryan is in the form of his career to date. And Steve Cotterill himself speaks his mind, no matter how agricultural he may sound - he doesn't care and is clearly not unsure of himself. He said after the Orient draw that he wants City fans to turn up expecting a win and wants us to go home disappointed if we don't get it. The whole set-up is, currently, exuding confidence! How we respond to a few injuries and disappointing results is the test we're waiting for now.
One BCFC
Winning is a habit, no matter how good the teams infront of us have been we have mostly found a way to get the result. The encouraging sign is we havent even got really going yet so there could be some very exciting times ahead
Running Man
i think anybody who was at Notts County knows how good we can be , Agreed, best so far, our performances are going to vary depending on the opposition and how they set up, sometimes you just have to roll up your sleeves and win ugly. MK Dons should be a cracker. Since the Manure game the media have been blowing smoke up their backsides, be fantastic to bring them down to earth. semblar
We will know for sure after 46 games... But a good start shapes a season. If we can 25 points after 12 games, we will have a great foundation. We will have to deal with losing, injuries, winter months etc. so a long way to go, but it seems that we have , as a squad understood to take each game at a time, and that you need concentration and application in every game. There are no easy days out. I would be very surprised if we could not maintain top 6 all season, and with a few more recruitments as SC already had explained should mount a decent challenge. That will not change if we lose tomorrow, but we do seem to have the ingredients for a half decent season The "Dream" result would have us knowing for sure before that - I don't want us to miss out on Auto Promotion on the last day, as that would probably make it harder to pick ourselves back up and go up via the playoffs. Lets just hope that things continue broadly in line with the wonderful start we have seen, results-wise...although nobody would be daft enough to suggest that we can go unbeaten all the way through. As others have said, the key test will be how we react after the first league loss of the season

Scrumpty
We're doing the basics really well, have a good shape and are well disciplined. We're doing well, but the best thing is... there's loads of improvement to come, once understandings develop. We also have a great bench, covering most positions. The future is bright: the future is purple!

054123
A little from column A, a little from coloumn B! I liked a comment from the Doncaster forum which basically said that we didn't offer much apart capitilise of thier 3 mistakes?? That'll be 3-0 then. A relative asked me how we'd been playing this year and all i could do is shrug and say City turn up, play some alright footabll and win the match. It didn't sound exciting, but we're top of the league so what more do you want? If i'm honest, having spent the majority of my supporting life at this level (i think!) you get out by being City or being Swansea. Not too many teams are like Swansea, the Wolves & Johnson era teams are more like City of today. We just beat you.

Monkeh
you have to beat whats in front of you, we are doing that with out to much of a struggle and really should be on 19 points if it was for a bad call against orient,

zyderiup
Rubbish teams that come to spoil the party and play for a point are always going to make the game look a bit dull and make sure that chances are kept to a minimum. We looked very sharp to jump on scrappy chances and seem together as a unit which is very encouraging at this stage. A bunch of football fans, who seen their team lose 3-0 are bitching and moaning....... never!
samo II
If (BIG if, and not presuming; just observing) we get three points tomorrow, then we'll have beat our total after 22 games last term within 10 this time out. And before people jump up and down on me for comparing (not saying last year was our benchmark or anything...); Wolves didn't break the 20 points barrier until their 9th game last term, having 19 after game eight. So, again; victory tomorrow certainly would suggest we are on the right track to make the top six, even though there is of course a long way to go. Marina's Rolls Royce
Apologies, I didn't realise this was an English exam My apologies also as I hadn't realised this thread was to discuss feline rectal functions. Since Cotts came Everything has been better. We have probably the best squad in this div. Think we are one of the best team in this div. Look at our odds with the bookies, we are nr2 fav. Earlly season but Everything looks ok. Who is better? Posh, SU, Coventry, Dons, Preston. Dont know. But for once I got the right vibes for our team. We will be in the top when the seasons ends. 1 Place or second, its a normal way of thinking. We are Bristol City FC. Always Believe. Coyr I agree with this- my point is that I don't think we have played that well this season despite us being top (although I wasn't at Notts County). I just think we need to improve because we may not be quite so fortunate against the likes of MK, Cov, Preston etc. Yes- we are Bristol City and we've had two good seasons in about the last 20- the last 6 in relegation scraps. It's been so long I've forgotten what a really good City side looks like hence my OP.
Will Rollason
When we had our wonder year with Gary we often just seemed to luck our way through games and during the promotion season i dont recall us being particulaly amazing.... momentum is the thing i reckon and confidence
