3 pints?

Watch out for the West Midland Police they are a notorious heavy handed and over zealous bunch. I and other City fans witnessed appalling policing the last time I was at the Bescott. One City fan was arrested on the grounds that he was intoxicated whilst queuing to get in. He'd driven up to Walsall and had only one pint.

There were dozens of other examples of the WMP acting like an occupying army. The club complained and there was an independent police enquiry and I was interviewed by two police inspectors in my own home as a witness.

Hopefully they've learnt their lesson aren't as aggressive and OTT next week.

seem to remember the police ejecting one chap for next to nothing and leaving his small son in the ground on his own, unbelievable. This was the year that Lita scored 2, a last minute winner.

Myself and DaveL witnessed that. I approached a PC to explain and I received an aggressive 'f..... off, or you'll be next' I looked for and luckily saw the WMP commanding officer and within minets I saw the young lad holding hands with a WPC.

Walsall fan in peace.

You will be able to pay on the day next week. The price will be a couple of quid more than the advance tickets though.

Taking 800 initial tickets would have been Bristol City's choice. I think it works in a way that makes the away team liable for any unsold tickets so clubs tend to be conservative. The away end behind the goal holds just under 2,000. If you bring more we will open up the side for you too. So you'll be fine. We've got plenty of room as there aren't too many of us.

As for WMP. We know. They're better than they were (some of you will recall the late 80's and those play-off games), but still have a few that get a bit over excited.

Genuinely think we'll take around 2500, especially after yesterday

Good stuff. The end behind the goal and half the side is about 3,000 in total so you'll be fine.

If we thought you could bring more we'd give you the whole side giving you the 4,000 plus we've given Leeds, Wolves, Sheff Wed and Coventry over the last few years. We are very accommodating like that.

Looking forward to the game. We've picked up at home of late and you're obviously going well. We gave you lift off on Boxing Day last year by extending the Yule spirit and not turning up at your place. You haven't looked back since. We've had a nightmare with injuries this season but the return of most of our players yesterday saw us looking like the half decent side we can be. All but one (we had nine out three weeks ago) should be fit for our game next week. Makes a hell of a difference when you have a small squad.

Hi mate, thanks for coming on here, what's the Saddlers Club like for a pre match drink and bite to eat? Is the price and quality reasonable?

Haven't been in for a few years myself. But I think it's OK and reasonable value. It certainly still welcomes away fans and guess you will fill it but you do need to pay a pound or two to get in. Otherwise The George is also an away friendly establishment within walking distance of the ground and the Fullbrook isn't as scary for people who doh spake proper as it once was. Otherwise, as people who came last year will attest, we have a bar in the ground these days. Typical "under the stand" affair so completely soulless, but it's a drink and our grub isn't bad.
