Official capacity at Weston is 3,500

FA Cup games no longer get moved following changes to FA rules

The WSM board are meeting today and discussing with Donny ticket arrangements, on the basis Donny didn't bring many down to us when they were on a good league run can't see them bringing more than a few hundred tops.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this match on TV either so could be played on the Thursday to Monday at any time!

There is going to be 8 games on Sunday starting at 2pm as the BBC are going to do a live score program covering them. I'd imagine a good chance of WSM game being televised

Stadium capacity is officially 3,000 - may be reduced for the day as they have to think about segregation, stewarding etc.

No room for temp seating, and after speaking to a health and safety nerd at the council, he says the timescale makes it impossible for them to give a safety certificate for increased capacity any how.

They have a unique problem in that they have one male and one female rest room - this will be a problem as Doncaster fans will be segregated and unable to use these. They may have to take the portaloo approach, which would also decrease the capacity.

Also worth noting, if the game gets picked for TV coverage on the Friday evening, it's the carnival night where 100,000 people usually turn up. They'd struggle with policing and I don't think the town could cope with two events that size . . .

How accurate is this?

Weston state their ground capacity is 3,500.

There are toilets when segragation is used they are in the block on the far side of the ground, they were installed years ago.

Segregation wont be a problem, assume you have been to the ground, it is nothing more than a double gate in opposite corners of the ground that probably hold enough space for about 10-15 max. (Segregation has been used before for games)

Donny wont bring that many down, and Weston is renowned for not attracting the casual fan

As for the temporary seating, guess it is a non starter as there isn't room to fit it anyway, but surely as they are already built they come with some kind of certification already? How does anyone else manage when they are set up for short notice?

An update:

Donny have said they expect approx 500 people to come down, so WSM will allocate 1000 spaces as this is the smallest size they can allow for that number.

WSM have been advised that Donny don't currently have a "hooligan" element, but do currently have a problem with a group bringing flares into the ground.

WSM had pushed for no segregation but were told they had no option.

WSM have asked for the prices to remain the same as current matches - still to be agreed with Donny

A&S have said if BBC offer to cover the game on the Friday night, due to the Weston carnival A&S won't be able to police the game and the club will have to meet the costs of bringing in another force

The club have been told that the BBC are to make their decision on TV matches today, so fixture date and time should be announced later today.

Might it be more convenient all round for the Weston Carnival to be held in Bristol just for this year seeing that the FA won't allow Weston to stage the game elsewhere? The Prem Lge are always wanting to play matches abroad so why are carnivals so static?

Why not have the Rio Carnival in S****horpe one year or the Mardi Gras in Hemel Hempstead?

To be perfectly blunt, WsM have brought this rather on themselves. They should have drawn Gillingham away.

That is a bit of a bummer, I wonder if TV money would be increased as a result of covering additional costs of policing due to the change of date? Assuming this happens of course...

Also it is crap that fans have to be segregated, City bring loads down for pre season friendlies and this game is hardly huge for donnie fans so don't see what the problem is.
