Between heaven and hell
Yes we are top of the league and yes we are 15 unbeaten in the league this season. However how many people have my view that we could do with a resounding victory to make a real statement, not against a S****horpe or Donny but someone like Oldham that people are talking about. For me its likely but unfortunately to many times we get pegged back and then come under pressure for periods in the second half. What I am trying to say is come on my babbers 90 mins of front foot football and rip um apart 4-
Roadrunner
I would be happier with a 3-0 v PNE, in a few weeks time.
Between heaven and hell
No mate starts on Saturday for me, sod Oldham let's get it firing on all cylinders. Fed up with the draws against the like of Bradford , get that little ripping them apart down the right and watch them chase Freemans shadow. Come on you Reds

reddogkev
MK Dons was the statement... Mind you, perhaps it wasn't a great statement. I'd love to see a couple of quality goals and a clean sheet this weekend for City.
Admin phantom Posted October 30, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted October 30, 2014 Do you not think that teams fear us already? Undefeated and two points clear............ Not as much as they did a few weeks ago, the reason we are where we are is we were winning more games a few weeks back. Like it or not we are not getting the results we were previously. Agree with the OP time to put the marker down again and steamroller through November
The Casual Connoisseur
I think it's a matter of teams like Preston, Swindon, Oldham etc hitting a bit of form and maybe this is their peak, the great thing about November is if it goes tits up, you know, (well hope) that we will strengthen in January, for the first time in many a year, I have faith in the team behind the scenes to bring in the correct personnel (if needed)that will propell us back to the hop IF we do slip up a little. Bar BS3
We can draw our next 3 games and still be on course for a points total that pretty much assures you of promotion. Some people get too carried away too quickly and are spoilt by a truely remarkable start to the season. If plodding along, averaging 2 points per game is a "disappointment" to some of you, then I for one will happily accept a "disappointing" run to the end of the season! As yet it hadn't happened to City but we have another 32 matches to play and history suggests that it will happen at some stage. If/when it happens it's how Cotterill and his squad handles defeat or even a run of defeats that will determine how the season pans out regardless of other teams form. No doubt that SC has experienced similar situations previously and we won't hopefully see a knee jerk reaction with loads of questionable changes to the starting 11 should City struggle over a number of games. As I said weeks ago this will be our season to regain Championship status. Nothing yet has changed my mind.

Indeed true, a look at the three months of the season so far, we played 5 league games within each month August 11 points from 15 ~ 4 points dropped September 13 points from 15 ~ 2 points dropped October 9 points from 15 ~ 6 points dropped It will be interesting to see which months form we follow in the future. September we will be automatic promotion October looking at top six

Got to stay upbeat. Remember that the players read this forum.

Obviously I'd rather have automatic promotion, but top 6 would still be a great achievement considering the amount of new faces and the loss of our top goal scorer. Really don't see Baldock's departure as a great loss or something that's likely to be detrimental to our finishing position. The new players gelled very quickly - including Baldock's more than able replacement - and the team will only improve imo. I certainly won't be happy settling for top 6. I agree with Robbo, I've felt since before day 1 that this will be our season.
Wanderingred
Agree that a win against Oldham would be massive and show that we are not just early pacesetters but here to stay! I also agree that anything other than a top 2 finish would be dissapointing. Whats comforting is that even if we have mid table form for the rest of the season (ie in our 31 games remaining we win 10 draw 11 lose 10) that will still give us 74 points and probably a playoff place! We've given ourselves such a great chance, we need to be ruthless and grasp it, not settle for the top six.
Manon
I think a win tomorrow will def be better than a draw or a defeat. Personally I hope the dragon smothers the invading villagers from greater manchester with its powerful wings, reduces their pitch forks to ashes with it's fiery breath, before devouring lord farquar whole in one bite to send them packing back up north with their tails between their legs.
