New Striker

Posted on Joe Garner thread: If it is a Striker we want, personally I'd look at Michael Smith of Swindon. He looked really tidy holding the ball up against Flint, and scored a great goal to beat us. Added to that Swindon will be looking to offload in January and in May. He has the same number of goals and assists to Wilbraham but in one less game. Plus he's only 23.

Yeah but why would he come to us?

This is the question.

No doubt he'd tear it up here, but we'd be at the back of a long line, including Championship sides, if he was indeed available.

Personally I'd have liked to see Paterson back, so was disappointed to see Fleetwood pick him up until January, though would like to think if he does well we might keep an eye on his situation, as feel his style would fit well into out side currently, and refuse to believe he'd be be out of our price/wage range.

I actually was a bit disappointed in him tbh. Not doubting the blokes effort but I expected more.

I guess that is true, certainly in terms of goal return.

But do also think it was hard to judge everyone in the team at that time, and he came away with some credit for me.

I'd have liked to see him in this side.

Didn't realise Taylor-Fletcher was at Leicester....he would be bloody handy in L1

That's not a bad shout. He's currently on an initial 1 month loan with Sheffield Wednesday which ends tomorrow: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29771956

Heres his stats for this season: http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=18014

He would definitely add physical presence and a good footballing brain to our side.

Would deffinetly be a good addition.

I would like to think that if by January if all that is deemed needed is a striker that the board will go all out finacially to get the right man. Money should be no object if in the end it costs us promotion.
