block16
Cov fan in peace! Looking forward to the JPT game in a few weeks, this competition is all we've got left so we should be bringing a few hopefully! Gutted we drew you in the draw as I hate Ashton Gate after you effectively relegated us there a few years back- plus you'll most likely knock us out this time too! Anyway, was wondering what the turn out from your lot will be like considering its dirt cheap tickets? Id have thought we'd bring around 1.5k so wondering what the attendance should be like for this? We'll be well up for this one as when we got to the area final a few years back there was a huge buzz with us playing to 32000 sell out. Will Bristol be as bothered or could we catch you off guard? Be nice to see some predictions from the away fans as most of ours are very pessimistic about this one! I'm predicting scrappy 2-1 win for the mighty sky blues with a Madine double! See you in two weeks

block16
I think we'll break the 1000 mark. Maybe 1.5k is ambitious for a Wednesday night when we're expected to lose but we do have good away support and believe it or not but this is billed as the 'biggest game of our season'. Just shows how far we've fallen I suppose!

Exactly, a lot will be bothered IF we reach Wembley. At this moment in time not many care about the JPT which is why there will be a low crowd. Don't see why I should speak for myself when there will be 5000+ other season ticket holders not in attendance

IF we get promoted to the Championship, Wembley cup finals are gone. I want a league and cup double this season.

Frenchay Red
Well this ST holder has a ticket. Just a few quid for a home mid-week fixture, in a competition we might possibly win, is good value.

Between heaven and hell
There is a certain logic to what you say but I think it's a strange way of looking at things. You don't want success because it will be expensive! Life must be awful for fans of really successful teams who have away matches in Europe. Even if you don't want to go to Wembley there would be nothing to stop you watching the match on TV, should City make it. This is the only cup that City has a chance of winning (if you exclude the Gloucestershire Senior Cup) You're missing the point plonker, a club like ours should not be having a hand shandy over reaching the Jpt final at Wembley. I will watch this club where ever they play as I have done for 30yrs, if we got to the prem I would willingly get an away ticket membership if thats what would be required so I had the chance to see every game that season and seasons after that. Gloucester cup and JPT ain't for me I want good away days in FA cup championship or prem.
pongo88
You're missing the point plonker. As the saying goes "Manners Maketh The Man", so what does your post make you? This is a forum - an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. Calling someone, who has a different point of view to your own, a plonker is a strange concept of conversation. (At least, not an intelligent conversation.) Historically we are a bottom second tier/ top of the 3rd tier side, so the being in the jpt is about standard for where we have been historically, no one is having a "handy shandy" over it, but id much rather see us win it than not, although the league is the priority
havanatopia
Where does it say that? Ref the Atyeo...Not exactly the Kop at Anfield though is it. More to the point; allocations for cup games tend to be higher from my recollection.

OOOhhhh i could murder a packet of them now.. they still make em do they? last packet I bought was when they cost about 1p , back in the Tom Ritchie days. block16
Don't understand the snobbery towards the JPT. Its a chance at Wembley for teams that'd otherwise never get there. It is tin pot but who cares, I really rate it. Mid week games create a great atmosphere, then a big day on the piss in London is every fans dream! It's what its all about for the fans doesn't matter what competition. A trip to Wembley/cup win can really galvanise a club. Speak to Southampton fans and they'll tell you just what a big turning point is was for them. http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/51341-4-000-Allocation-for-Bristol-City/page3
