brad blit
Now this would make me think another striker is a possibility, especially after City tweets earlier from Cotts where he spoke about Burns and being available to play etc

bcfctim
Interesting it's for the rest of the season. Definitely suggests we're looking to get another striker in as competition for Agard in Jan
RedM
A good loan move for him, a got a strange feeling he might have family in the region so not totally surprising. Hope he gets lots of games and comes back with lots of experience for us.
Monkeh
good move for him and will hopefully aid him in his development, it also seems to me that two players are now incoming, (fingers crossed)
samo II
Good luck to him; an excellent move career-wise for the lad, and wise considering Smith is in the door.
Sargent Pepper
Good move for Wes and probably the most understandable of the 3 "outs" but i can't believe how light our squad is now. I hope SC has something up his sleeve in the next hour

Nogbad the Bad
Bit disappointed it's for the season. Could easily see Wes starting in the JPT, and quite possibly the F.A. Cup. Personally would have liked to see him coming on regularly and featuring more for City this season. Good luck to him anyway, hope he remains injury free at Oxford and makes a big impression. The Journalist
I really think the scheduling of the JPT and FA Cup has caused a huge problem for our fringe players, Wes Burns included. With the second round of the FA Cup again coming immediately before the next round of the JPT, Steve Cotterill will once more be restricted with the number of changes he's able to make for the FA Cup game. Given we needed another first-team quality forward in anyway, plus we already have JET, I just don't see how Wes would've been given any game time in those competitions. Anyone we sign from now on will probably be cup tied (or not available to us like Smith) in one, or even both those competitions, so we could end up struggling for forwards. If Wes had played against Telford and scored a hat trick, with his confidence up do you think he might have started the next League game? It may have been the making of him. Of course it could equally be argued a loan at Oxford may be the making of him too, let's hope so.

I'm not sure how we'd have got Burns on the pitch against Telford though, for the reasons I state above. JET would need to start to keep him ready and interested, Pack, Wagstaff and Cunningham have done plenty to justify their inclusions, and we need to keep Osborne fit and ready now El Abd has gone too. The problem for Burns is that he's probably the 6th or 7th change you'd make - and we're not able to make that amount of changes in the FA Cup because of the JPT tie! It's both the games immediately before and after unfortunately, and therein lies your problem. It's exactly the same as the last round, actually. That scheduling has been a major problem for us. Marina's Rolls Royce
Great move. Be interesting to see where Appleton plays him as I think he's more effective as a wide man than an out and out striker, which maybe is why Cotts thought he could let him go on loan. I never felt he was competition for Agard or Wilbs and cover for neither.

Taylor10
Bit disappointed but feel this is a good move for Wes. The longer the season has gone on the more obvious it's been he's not going to play regularly. With the arrival of Smith he would arguably have been 5th choice striker. He wasn't really going to play anywhere else other than up front in SC's 3-5-2 either. It's a shame but hope Wes will improve from the game time and benefit from the experience.
