I guess only time will tell

I am just going off what has been firmly repeated by both our manager and chairman numerous times. We know how important he is to us and unless he is guaranteed to go straight in to a Premier League starting XI then he will not be sold or instead sold but loaned back as part of the deal. I think we have learnt from our mistakes over losing Bamford last year and Baldock two years before that. I think we actually realise that you need to keep your best players and add depth to achieve promotion from this league. Just a shame it has taken them 7 seasons to figure it out but all will be forgiven if we manage it this season.

If not, Robbo out!!!

Alli will not go to Newcastle United and if he does he will be loaned back immediately until the end of the season.

we said the same loads of times about our players, money talks, this coming from a club who's owner is one of the richest in the uk (a hell of alot richer the peter winklemen)

Don we (our club) were saying the same about baldock and maynard right up until it was on the buying club's offical site,

Whats said in public and whats said in the board room are completely different,

Great talent that lad but whether its this month or the end of the season he is going to leave,

Goals aside with Harry's stats how many assists has he and afobie had? because thats just as important

Yeah no doubt and we are resigned to losing him but it seems more likely that it will happen in the summer rather than now. Alli is very mature for his age and he really does love our club being an MK lad. He has been involved with us for a good number of years already too.

Last time I looked Alli had 11 goals and 4 assists this season which for an 18 year old central midfielder playing in a 2 in front of the back 4 is pretty impressive.

doesn't everything go through him? is he also a crab like player (knocking those 4 - 8 yard square passes to keep the ball moving)

Sometimes there is more to a midfielder then just assists and goals (like our own lee johnson back in the championship)

Anyway if newcastle are keen on buying him and willing to part with the sort of money being spoken about then its for the first team not to be loaned back,

Signing like that howesver rarely happen in jan I think he'll stay til the summer or until after you beat preston in the play-off final

I'd prefer Korey Smith, different player but irreplaceable at this level.

Still good news for us, 2 of their best players leaving (possibly of course).

Saying that we said that about Swinfdle and the Asia Cup........hmmmmmm

I think keeping Grigg, Potter, Reeves, Baker and Alli are all as important, if not more than Afobe...so we better bloody keep them all :fingerscrossed:

The club aren't going to come out and say "we're flogging him to all corners like a cheap whore" are they? At the end of the day, if Newcastle make an offer for the player that the club, the player (and his agent) or both deem fair, he'll be gone and it'll be Newcastle's decision whether he comes back to you on loan or not. I happen to think he'll stay with you until the summer one or another, but in football you can't be as certain as "this will happen" or " this won't happen" just because a manager, chairman or player told the local paper so. At the end of the day, if a Prem team really want Alli they'll get him and on their terms. The same would apply to us if a big team came in for, say, Luke Freeman or Joe Bryan

Not sure you had a lot of choice with Bamford, after all he wan't your player was he? Same as Afobe, I heard someone on the Beeb sympathysing saying that poor old Robinson finds the players and loses them to bigger clubs, actually he was an Arsenal player, franchise had just borrowed him. As for Baldock, wouldn't say he was as big a loss as Bamford, Alli or Afobe.

Yep, spot on. He plays alongside Potter and they keep us ticking, protecting the back four and assisting the attacking effort. We look poorer without either one. Reeves too is imperative just ahead in the CAM role, as well as Baker on the wings and Grigg up front.

Ha, us winning in the play-offs!? We have had 4 play-off's in the last 8 years and lost in the semi-final of each one.

No, I was just making the point that we seem more prepared this time by keeping players or at the very least having replacements lined up (Clarke-Harris and Cole for Afobe).

As for Baldock not being as big of a loss, well he definitely was at the time. We were top of the league having just won 0-4 away at Premier League Norwich City in the cup and Baldock was on fire. We lost him to West Ham United and the season went downhill from there really.

I certainly wouldn't. Korey is very good, Ali is class. Big difference.

True. I guess I just have faith in Winkelman realising that this is our best season for promotion and unless the deal suits us perfectly (big money and a loan back preferably, or at least the former) then we should not sell. Hopefully we can have the best of both worlds, Alli helping us to promotion before leaving for big money in the summer. We need Championship football to grow and now with the stadium complete and with a fantastic squad which with a few additions I believe could compete in the level above, is the best time to do it.

That's your opinion, I would prefer Smith, but as I said before a different player, I stil don't think Alli is the best player in this league though but he has a lot of potential, he's young and needs to be playing first team football, I doubt that will happen if he goes to Newcastle.

I hope he does though, anything to weaken such a vile excipients of a "football" club.

can't agree if you offered me a choice between korey and ali then it has to be ali hands down he is just an all round better player,

not say korey is poor far from it I think he's fantastic, but ali is just better

sorry don, just saw this,

"Obviously there has been a lot of talk about Dele and Newcastle," Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio. "I don't think it's paper talk, I think it's a bit more than that, but it's nothing we've heard about yet."

Are they all loans? (Except Alli)

No.

Will Grigg is on a season long loan from Brentford.

Darren Potter was signed as a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday.

Ben Reeves was signed as a free transfer from Southampton.

Carl Baker was signed as a free transfer from Coventry City.

Dele Alli came through the clubs academy.

So you don't do transfer fees. Do you pay the players or are they amateurs?
