headhunter
Anyone know why our charge per ticket is more than double what Walsall fans are being asked to pay? I suppose we do come from the so called affluent south! Here's the evidence on their site (halfway down page under ticket prices): http://www.saddlers.co.uk/news/article/wembley-ticket-prices-2234797.aspx

ralphindevon
That's right, they did it in house and had queues around the ground from hours before opening time. A lot more civilised in Bristol

I suppose we do come from the so called affluent south! Here's the evidence on their site (halfway down page under ticket prices): http://www.saddlers.co.uk/news/article/wembley-ticket-prices-2234797.aspx As Tomarse said above, they didn't use Ticketmaster. After reading the stories of chaos they had I'm more than happy to pay the extra for the ease of getting our tickets Ps the answer was in the link you shared
RedM
Yes they did it in house, Walsall. Ticket master have high charges but at least they provided a service. I was annoyed at the time but at least it avoided a few hours in a queue, worth a couple of quid to most people I expect. The thing that did annoy me though was that the tickets were sent out ordinary mail, not signed for. No problem as mine arrived ok and you don't have the hassle of going to the sorting office if you aren't in. But when you have paid administration charges per ticket and then again for them to be posted its a bit of a cheek when they arrive for the price of a stamp! RedM
Another thread on Wembley tickets?!?!? Yes I expect we will merge it soon, but the other thread seems more where are you sitting/have the tickets come yet at the moment. I expected more people to querie the concession prices too, Walsall have theirs at 60 for example and ours 65. Apparently it is set by the clubs who play at the stadium not Wembley itself which surprised me, not that I'm eligible for a long time yet!!! ChippenhamRed
FYI, that URL shows that Walsall are indeed using Ticketmaster. The 'eticketing' domain is a Ticketmaster one. Exactly, I spotted that the other day. Quite clearly Walsall are using ticketmaster as well, so the differing charges are harder to explain. Only thing I would say is though, imagine if we'd try to sell 37k tickets ourselves....

I imagine the difference may be: Walsall use Ticketmaster as their ticketing solutions provider for all ticket sales (like we used to a few years back), while City have outsourced the Wembley job to them as a one off. It would be interesting to know, however. On the face of it, it looks as though City are overcharging us.
View from the Dolman
Walsall are only using Ticketmaster as their technology provider. Walsall are handling their own telephone bookings and fulfilling their orders directlyWe are using them as a complete solution - website, telephone bookings and order fulfilment/dispatch. Somebody has to pay for the Ticketmaster manpower we are using (David Lloyd said up to 200 lines so that's a lot of people!).
