I think it says so much for our team that we have such a spread of votes already.

So many have been fantastic, just for me with the games I've seen Freeman has been so consistent and works SO hard. Picks the team up when they are struggling to get momentum

I went for Flint

The turnaround from last season has been immense. I said on a thread earlier this season that should we go up I can't see him playing a part in the Championship, looks like I was wrong on that. And 9 goals from centre back is fantastic

As SMRB said, we've been crying out for a Luke Freeman for years, but having an Aden Flint in your team is worth its weight in gold

Was a tough choice, you can make a point for any of them, they've all been outstanding

It's very difficult to chose, they have all been fantastic throughout the campaign. We have Flint who has been nothing but a rock all season, winning everything that comes into our box, and also winning a lot in the oppositions box. Luke Ayling and Derek Williams have also been very solid, rarely slipping up, and have the ability to bring the ball froward from the back brilliantly. I think it's also worth mentioning Greg Cunningham, who, despite not playing all that much, has been excellent when called upon, either in place of Williams, or Bryan. When given to opportunity to exploit his pace, Mark Little has been deadly for us down that right side, getting passed countless left backs and getting the ball into the box.

Korey Smith has been solid link between the defence and the rest of the team, cleaning up stray balls and distributing sensibly whilst maintaining his composure. Wade Elliott started the season very well, and is a player I still rate, however with the entire squad on top form, no one can argue with Cotts utilising Pack in the recent weeks, who i think is another player who has come a long way this season, his vision and range of passing is simply top notch, especially for League 1. Joe Bryan has been sublime, such pace, intelligence and an unbelievable leap on him! JET always has the ability to make an impact despite not being in the starting line up all that much this year, a frustrating season for him no doubt.

Wilbraham and Agard have been a brilliant partnership for us, the latter underrated by some on here due to his occasional poor touch, however the amount of running he does for us leaves defences stretched, creating the necessary gaps for us to squeeze passed. Wilbraham, one who many doubted when we signed him (me included!) has been nothing but a revelation!.

But for me, the player of the season is Luke Freeman. He has been so consistent in being our major play maker, and has a never give up attitude. He always manages to somehow come away with the ball, even when it looks certain that he will lose it. His pace and technical ability is something opposition players fear, and something we all love to watch, he's an absolute delight.

There should be a button entitled 'All of Them' that would win your pole hands down. Otherwise not gonna vote; not fair to anyone.

My feelings entirely. A splendid team/squad effort.

Having said that I am going to vote for Colossus Flint, the rock on which so many victories have been gained. Our most improved member.

Just a couple of points (excuse the pun):

"Potential points" table... Don't know whether this is intended as a mutually exclusive "most each team can gain", or potential final table positions if each team does as well as they can. If the former, no worries, but if the latter, then due to playing each other etc. there's no way the table can finish like that.

I assume the former, but it's just a bit misleading and, potentially (again, excuse the pun), a little pointless (excuse...)...

Also, we're missing the Swindon v Walsall game on 21st April in the fixtures.

Other than that, top work  :clapping: and no, I can't pick a player of the season. Certainly not City Player...

Agree with this. Very tough to not pick the likes of Flint, Smith and Ayling though. When was the last time that player of the season wasn't a one or two horse race?

Even when we last went up... It was between McCombe, Basso and Fontaine really wasn't it?

Thinking about it, it's mad that a man with 17 goals realistically isn't going to be anywhere close to winning it, but it just shows how consistent pretty much everyone has been. In another team, I think even Fielding would be in with a shout, only caught out a couple of times all season and much improved on the last campaign.

I think so. I was a big fan of several players in that team but this year I reckon you could make a good case for at least seven players. I'm slightly embarassed that I forgot to mention Bryan too!

Champions each year:

2014:  Wolves          83 Points + 20 Points in last 8 games = 103 points

2013:  Doncaster     69 Points + 15 Points in last 8 games = 84 points

2012:  Charlton        82 Points + 19 Points in last 8 games = 101 points

2011:  Brighton        83 Points + 12 Points in last 8 games = 95 points

2010:  Norwich        82 Points + 13 Points in last 8 games = 95 points

2009:  Leicester       81 Points + 15 Points in last 8 games = 96 points

2008:  Swansea      78 Points + 14 Points in last 8 games = 92 points

2007:  S'thorpe        75 Points + 16 Points in last 8 games = 91 points

2006:  Southend      70 Points + 12 Points in last 8 games = 82 points

2005:  Luton            79 Points + 19 Points in last 8 games = 98 points

During the last 10 years:

Minimum points the champions picked up in last 8 games = 12 points

Maximum points the champions picked up in last 8 games = 20 points

Average points the champions picked up in last 8 games = 15 points

Using the history of the past 10 years, the outcome is:

Minimum - Bristol City:  83 Points + 12 Points in last 8 games = 95 points

Maximum - Bristol City:  83 Points + 20 Points in last 8 games = 103 points

Average - Bristol City:  83 Points + 15 Points in last 8 games = 98 points

Great thread....

How about adding to the real league 1 table... current points required to guarantee promotion / current points required to guarantee champions?

BTW. 2014 champions were Wolves with 103pts.... 2011 champions were Charlton with 101pts....

COYR's!!

Whats this 'free cider run in' ? you want a bunch of result predictions for City ? i worked on some of those a few weeks back, pre Roch, and had us on 100 pts. see below..  :)

H to Rochdale = 3 pts = 70pts

A to L Orient = 3 = 73

A to Crawley = 1 = 74

A to Yeovil = 3 = 77

H to Gills = 1 = 78

H to Crewe = 3 = 81

H to Barnsley = 1 = 82

A to Oldham = 3 = 85

H to Swindle = 3 = 88

we are, so far, 2 pts ahead of above so:-

A to Preston = 0 = 90

A to Bradford = 3 = 93

H to Coventry = 1 = 94

A to Chesterfield = 3 = 97

A to Walsall = 3 = 100

Flint for three reasons;

1) How instrumental he's been on the pitch for us.

2) How much he's improved and how dedicated he was in coming back from that injury.

3) His personality.

4) He's currently within the top 20 goalscorers* and hes a defender who doesn't take penalties or free kicks.

*Ok so it's more like top 22 as a few players have scored 9 goals.
