Switched On For The Job

With all the talk on here about proposed possible signings, Wembley glory, championship fixtures and the like. I just hope that the management and players are more concentrated on the job in hand, than some of the fans are,  firstly by beating Barnsley and then achieving promotion. I don't want to be talking about an after the lord Mayors show performance on Saturday evening. Having said that, I have never felt as confident in a manager or group of players than I have with this group. I just want the supporters to really help the team over the line by giving their all in vocal support. I don't want to hear songs about Jill Dando or anyone else for that matter, this is now all about Bristol City. I want to hear all supporters doing their bit for the team, singing the team home, in appreciation for what they have done so far for us.

COME ON CITY.

I cant see the fans taking their eye off of the main prize for a minute. We are too driven. Sunday was good but the title is 10 times more important to us. There wont be any lack of focus I'm sure.

You are very perspective, I couldn't have put that any better myself, where do you get the inspiration to write with such clarity?

Think it was Mark Little's interview, post match at Wembley, and he very much said the focus was the league.

Thought our players handled the pressure well, on Sunday.

Nothing worries me about the way things are, and if anything, Preson applying a bit of pressure will renew our resolve further.

Remember, being so many x points clear hinders our fight against complacency. They have had positive pressure on them to secure second place, ahead of the rest of the pack. No wonder they have stepped up!

A slight pressure on us to have to get results vs Swindle and Preston would be beneficial to our application, imo. Barnsley and Bradford are tests for us.

Having said all that, I am confident either way.

Indeed, promotion is not 'in the bag' just yet, Barnsley will be tough test of whether Cotts has managed to 'keep feet on the floor' - any slacking we will come away with nil points.

They had a great time on Sunday, we all did. For the players too they had a few days luxury build up, nice hotels etc. They will want more of this and won't want to fail now.

Although we have a team of 'winners' for a few it was the first time they have experienced winning a trophy and winning Promotion must be 10 times better. Again some have promotion experiences whilst others have felt the hurt and the pain of losing and some have never been involved at all.

I think the drive to succeed is stronger now they have all had a taste of success. The trophy win can only have done us good.

This seems to have been taken as a discussion about the team being switched on for the job. I have every confidence in the team and management, what I don't have is the same level of confidence, that the supporters will do their bit to see us over the line. There seems to be too much talk as if the job's already done and we can sit back, light a cigar and enjoy the show. We're all part of the same club and now is the time to really back this group with extra vocal support. Get behind the team and sing them home.
