Smoke Grenade

What a moron. Appreciate spirits are high but given the prevalence of cctv etc the perpetrator possibly has cost his or her self the chance of seeing the benefit of our promotion.

If you like smoke bombs or other similar items and think they contribute to atmosphere (appreciate views are mixed) it's a perfect example of why, justifiably, they are banned.

With any luck they'll get the idiot on CCTV and ban him for life.

Mixed feelings from me. A bloody damn fool but perhaps carried away in the day and a momentary lapse of decency.

One for me to be judged on individual circumstances - see if he's totally brain dead or just made a momentary mistake, got carried away but most importantly has learnt from it.

Thankfully, it seems, the consequences of his actions aren't as serious as they could have been.

Kinda agree, bit he'd have had 45 minutes without a pint and lobbing it in to a crowd of fans and players is idiotic, bloke needs to front it out and apologise.

Not carried away at all - whoever it was decided to get hold of one and then take it in to the ground. A planned act. Hope the moron in question has his picture in the Evening Post, gets prosecuted and then banned for a very long time. We can do without 'em.

This can't be a "momentary mistake, got carried away" as the prat took the smoke grenade to the match. You only take a smoke grenade to a match if you intend to throw it.

Bit of an overreaction...

I'm sure it wasn't intentional but it hit someone straight in the face and was thrown directly into a crowd. It wasn't the brightest thing to do

Definitely not. Whichever way you look at it that canister hit someone today and probably hurt them to a greater or lesser extent - a fellow City fan for Gods sake! I hope he is banned for life.

Presumably an arrestable offence taking the item into the ground in the first place, a 2nd offence offence of setting the item off and assault if he has hit somebody in the face whilst throwing it.

Can't have been. They didn't buy it inside the stadium, did they?

Whoever brought it and threw it is an absolutely idiotic cretin and the type of fan we don't want or need.

Imagine if it had smacked Flint in the face........

I understand what you are saying, but got to add that Flint being hurt would be no more tragic than anyone else. Stupid thing to take in a crowd and a completely idiotic thing to throw. Did it add to the atmosphere, no.

Not a smart move but people are going over the top. Hope the person is ok and all that jazz but they were being thrown around plenty outside the lions and no one made a fuss. Just enjoy the day!

I think you will find taking an item such as this into a football ground is an absolute offence, which means there is no legal defence whatsoever.
