Interesting at the moment that is still the old cladding in place which DID have flags on in the past

The picture above shows clear cladding

I wonder which we will get - at worst the very back can be covered with flags again

Placing flags across the back barely makes the stand look distinct.

Bristol Sport in other stands want imagery e.g. possible artwork to be removable which would be time consuming and impractical. So a permanent club emblem on the side of the stand appears to be out. A humble aspiration would be making the Atyeo side end of the Dolman stand distinct with flags every other week. Humble, achievable and practical.

On the front sloping part of the Dolman roof, I'd like to see in massive writing........."THIS IS ASHTON GATE", or something along those lines.

In reality we're likely to get a "Bristol Post" advert or something similar ;-(

At present it looks mundane, but dull advertising can also add to that sterile functional feel.

But if it brings in revenue....

But if it brings in revenue....

That is for Bristol Sport to decide.

Supporters have demonstrated what they can do.

A dull stadium that takes commercialism too far may not "make Bristol Proud" and lose revenue.

As corny as that sounds, I would ******* love that.

The way I see it, (I drive past it twice a day, 5 days a week) there's still alot of work going on at that end of the Dolman, but it looks as though they will eventually take the old cladding out and replace it with something in between the new steel frame.

All well and good for those in the South Stand, Atyeo and new Williams, when it's completed but what about those who stay in the Dolman..?

How on earth will they know where they are..?

If they install a complicated series of mirrors we'll be able to read it when we leave early.

More to the point, I sit in the Dolman and the Williams clock has gone. How will I now know when it's time to leave 10 minutes early? I might be forced to stay till the end of the match!

You will be much better served by changing your match day rituals this season.

The absence of the Williams stand will render most of the playing surface invisible due to the sun in your eyes.

My suggestion would be to reverse tradition and only attend the last few minutes of the match and applaud the team from the field.

Only if they have won, of course. If they haven't bothered to win then bollocks to them.

Any empty space should be filled with an Ajax like Mural, we've seen how good it looked in the EE.

Something that would honour the past and feature club logo(s), understandably we will most likely get BS hoarding everywhere that's not filled by a sponsor/advertiser, that's personally what I'd like to see.

It would look spectacular and could easily be funded by fans almost instantly.

The topic of placing a mural inside Ashton Gate was approached in 2013 with the architects team. Other ideas like placing artwork within the concourse sponsored by local businesses have also been proposed since.

Then came the but, but It appears far more realistic to ask Bristol Sport can fans put the Gerry Gow flag etc up on the wall of the Dolman on a matchday.

It appears rational that the word SPORT may be added to the lower Dolman.

Or maybe 'BUTCHERS'? :dunno:

Well I suppose maybe, but it appears more logical with the development at a advanced stage the seating would be used to highlight the Bristol Sport brand, although the fly through video shows a stand minus the Bristol Sport logo on seating or walls.

Regarding the seating. According to a post on WTMS, which quotes e mails from Bristol Sport the lower section of the Dolman will have all red seats, and there are no plans to change the seats in the upper section.

Let's hope the ground is full every week so we'd never know the difference anyway
