Holidays

I work with the guy whose dad collapsed on Sunday and had the pacemaker fitted lunchtime today, when speaking with Wade Elliott yesterday they asked him about the summer. Wade said that they all had to put their fitness monitor on every week and then when they report back for pre season all of the info is downloaded and analysed. Seems like we are certainly becoming far more professional as a club, on the playing side atleast.

Presumably the Bristol airport spotted thread will be open for business shortly.

I'll be up there working Thursday, i'll let thee know if I see any city players carrying any heavy bags of dosh.

Probably just sponsors evening and that'll be it, if they still do them.

Do you mean the shirt sponsors thing? Think this was done a couple of weeks ago, maybe even after the Barnsley game at the end of March. It was pouring with rain and we exited the Dolman by going into the hall afterwards. The tables were being set up 'posh' for a dinner. We were told it was the shirt sponsors evening...as everybody walked through with muddy shoes from the building work on the walkway.

There were a couple of players in town yesterday loaded down with designer shopping bags who were rushing to get a train, so I guess they are on leave right now.

Traditionally clubs start pre season training (and contracts run from) July 1st. Players may not have booked anything for May in case City ended up in the play offs. June is the holiday for players. Going up automatically has given them a few weeks extra.

Bristol City players usually have a few weeks extra anyway.

I would guess they are using this time to catch up with family and friends, maybe they have mates who are involved in Premiership/playoff games. Anyway, with the money they have and with nothing strictly controlling their time work wise they could grab a late deal and jet off before June couldn't they...except the ones with children at school, partners who work etc.

Ah anyway I look forward to July 1st when they are all back and moaning how hard pre-season is.

Shows an incredible team spirit and friendship that so many of them are off on a holiday together.  Can't think of many offices or workplaces where you'd happily go on your one annual holiday with a dozen colleagues!

I take you point but...

1) how many workplaces can have the bulk of their staff off all at once?

2)Many people only get 4 weeks holiday annually, how many people would take at least 25% to go with colleagues instead of family etc.

3) how many people can financially take more than one, or even one holiday a year.

I think many people might quite like to go on holiday with workmates if they are friends, but realistically it's just not possible.
