I know his name crops up every year for some reason or other, and probably will until the day he retires, but seeing as he's been released by the clowns of Cardiff, I wonder if this might be the time to have a look at him again and assess his current standard / fitness etc.

No, and for me it's nothing to do with the way he left. Players thrive on regular football, something he hasn't had since leaving us, and only scoring 8 goals in three and a half seasons. It would be too risky imo.

Yeh. Pay as you play or small wage though, one year deal. Basically terms I doubt he'd entertain. If he would, in a heartbeat.

I would welcome him back with open arms. He can score goals and is a natural finisher. He won't command much of a wage now, and he is still young enough that if he found his shooting boots again he would be a good addition to the squad. It all comes down to money, but if he was willing to sign a 1 year deal on 2 or 3k a week, then I think he would be a gamble worth taking.
