Is it really 38 years ago tomorrow that I skipped School to witness probably the most remarkable 90 minutes of football in Bristol Citys History..

It still makes the neck hairs stand on end just typing this...........................  What a game, what a comeback, what a Team.

A night when a sea of Red swamped Coventry City and Highfield Road.

It was an incredible night but what I'll always remember most was the emotion in the crowd after we equalised, grown men being supported on the barriers, arms raised up, looking up to the sky with tears pouring down their faces.

Pity the pictures are so poor - you don't get a real impression of just how many City fans were there - and i can't spot an 18 year old Nogbad charging on to the pitch at the end either!

Actually, I thought I did spot you as judging by your pics you have a protruding chin...but upon closer inspection it turned out to be Jimmy Hill.

The Coventry night was remarkable, but I always feel a slight sadness that the home win against Liverpool a week or two earlier gets overshadowed as a result.  That, for me, was the most outstanding City performance I've ever seen, as we came from behind to beat the league champions 2-1, both goals from Chris Garland, in front of a crowd of around 36,000 at the Gate.

Quite agree, but it was 3 days earlier on the Monday night with 38,000 and a couple of thousand locked out.

I was in the Philippines trying to follow the last few matches on short wave radio. I really did not know the outcome till I arrived back in England a week or so latter.I remember my Gran who was not interested in football. Telling me that she got caught up in the atmosphere around Bristol at the time, and he sons were all football fans. My Gran who was a very keen church goer, heard we were 2-0 down. Said a pray at that point, and the rest as they say was history.

I was 9 years old and my Dad took me to the match. I remember that night as if it was yesterday. It was a sunny Eve and the Gate was packed to the rafters. The scousers were packed into the open end (now Atyeo stand). That was one of the greatest nights in our history as that Liverpool side was full of legends. I hope to be there when we next play Liverpool!

I may be wrong, but if memory serves me right, they'd won the league on the Saturday (or were already Champions) and played a very strong side on the Monday BEFORE playing Armchair United in the FA Cup Final on the Saturday. They then went on to win the European Cup the following Wednesday I believe...

But the team of the decade were humbled at a rammed Ashton Gate..

Was in the main stand and remember Coventry coming out in Directors box to thank their fans to see the pitch full of City fans and they left. Was 13 and gave my scarf to Norman Hunter who to this day is in my all time top players at the Gate. Amazing memory and cannot remember kids births but can remember that night clearly
