Lew-T
All odds are to 1 Derby 11 Brentford 12 Burnley 12 Bristol City 16 Ipswich 16 QPR 16 Wolves 16 Forest 18 Wednesday 18 Blackburn 20 Brighton 20 Cardiff 20 Fulham 20 Leeds 20 Huddersfield 25 Reading 25 Birmingham 28 Bolton 28 MK Dons 28 Charlton 50 Rotherham 80 Anybody surprised to see that? And Its Smith
at first glance it looks ridiculous to be joint fourth favourite. However, when you look at the teams below us I can only reasonably argue for 2-3 teams to finish above us. Feels strange potentially going into a Championship season genuinely hoping for a top 8 finish.
Phileas Fogg
I'm more surprised to see Brentford so high. Warburton is a good manager so they'll have a tough time replacing him.
Robin1988
I would expect all of Ipswich, Wolves, QPR, Forest, Brighton and Blackburn to finish above us. I'd love to be wrong though.
Fordy62
I'll be surprised if the Fulham's, Forest's, QPR's and Wolves of this league don't seriously splash some cash. We're evidently trying to become more self sufficient so if they buy well, they should be hard to compete with. But I suppose QPR aren't known for being terribly good with their money. Wolves are the ones that scare me. Dicko - Afobe - Sako That is some front line.

Fordy62
Not forgetting Norwich or Boro. If Boro go up I'm pretty confident Norwich will romp this league. Boro I'm less sure about.
Rudolf Hucker
I'm more surprised to see Brentford so high. Warburton is a good manager so they'll have a tough time replacing him.Warburton will, most likely end up managing another Championship club a couple of weeks after the start of the season and have an effect there. Question is: which one?
lou-peters-dive
MK at 28 ? Hate to say it but they will be better than that for sure.
chipdawg
At this stage aren't those the bookies starting odds rather than those influenced by the betting patterns? So therefore, it's just a reflection of who the bookies want people to bet on more than anything else, so not necessarily an endorsement of our chances. I agree with the sentiment though; we have momentum and a championship quality squad already, we can make an impression
Super Scotty Murray
Yeah Norwich/Boro + Hull/Newcastle/Sunderland will be added to that list and would expect any of those teams to be ahead of us in the betting. Therefore us being tied 6th favourites is about right I reckon.
MichaelRobartes
I find it amazing that anyone would have a punt on that before the transfer window is even open, and before we know who the last two teams will be. They must do since they always put up odds this early though. Ridiculous. Not a dig at the OP btw. It's interesting to see that we're obviously well thought of. chipdawg
MK at 28 ? Hate to say it but they will be better than that for sure. Depends really. There best player Alli won't be there, most of their other better players are loanees. Difficult to call IMO but I don't think they'll struggle too badly

But we have momentum and we romped it. History shows that teams can carry momentum through. Recruitment is going to be very hard and a massive test of SC and KB. We're now competing be with Forest and QPR who players know they can get 40k out of. I suspect we'll be paying 10k Max.
extonsred
Irrespective of how much cash others will spend if we buy as wisely as we did last summer - and many of them are still improving - then hopefully we can be up there.

Roe
Nice to see but ultimately means nothing of course. I've never understood how some people seem to have the idea that bookies can somehow see into the future. Bookies are not "rarely wrong", they're actually "wrong" nearly all the time, they just stack the market in their favour so that regardless of the end outcome, they end up winning overall. It's all a bit pointless right now, but I'm amazed that the bookies have us so high - amazed in a nice way For those saying Brentford won't be up there - keep an eye on them. This moneyball thing will continue to grow over the summer, new manager, a system in place that is working incredibly well in Denmark - I'm intrigued to see how it goes for them. I'd have a bet they'd be top 8 again, minimum

QPR won't be splashing the cash or pay big wages, if they end up in the Championship at all. Lots of clubs in some disarray in the Championship next season living on past glories who won't live up to their big names.

Fulham have no cash and are stuggling to meet FFP, they will have to sell Forest are under a transfer embargo QPR have to sell and may well be in for a 50 million fine (thats 3 seasons worth of payments gone) Wolves will get into the play-offs

Okay maybe I'm wrong but there is 21 teams listed, so you still have to incorporate the team that doesn't win playoff, the promoted team and the final relegated team, so there are bound to be changes to those prices and also deductions so to speak, as if somehow Newcastle came down, they would be red hot favs to go back up and most other teams prices will drift marginally. 'Orns
Birmingham had a decent finish to the season 28/1 looks a decent bet. Just spotted that too....seems a little high to me Isn't the bloke who went down in HK still their owner though? Maybe they have some kind of penalty coming up that the bookie knows about, and we don't!
Reading Red UTC
Don't forget Swindon. Will have won it by November. If they do somehow beat Preston they would slot quite nicely into that odds table just below Rotherham.
