Brett Pitman

Pitman might not too work hard for the team but that's often the case with natural goal scorers. Tony "tap-in" Thorpe was a classic example of that.

So was probably the best of all - Jimmy Greaves. He'd do bugger all for 90 mins and then be in the right place at the time to nick the winner. You can't teach that.

Lineker and Owen were two others in that mode.

Linaker yes, but Owen? His game was all about pace, hence why after all those injuries his career fizzled out.

Really??!!

Great surging run, absolutely exquisite finish. Real class.

Such a good player and it'll be very interesting to see if City land a better striker in the next few weeks..

So that's Albert, Jet and Pitman we'll be up against this season.

Three cheers at AG for them.

Despite B'muff strengthening and spending big (for them) they'll struggle big time in the PL. They simply don't have enough quality players.

Should City reach the PL then we'd have the same problem - unless SL is prepared to part with very serious amounts of dosh. Only then with quality signings would we stand a chance of survival.

I disagree, Atsu is a good talent with serious pace, Fererici a good backup keeper, Josh King gives them another option too. Add in Sylvan Distin's experience if they get him. Mings is young and a real athlete, a good signing.

I may actually put a fiver on them staying up. They'll do better than Burnley. I think they do have quality, those additions along with the likes of Ritchie and Callum Wilson give them a decent squad.

Sure Owen was all about pace but apart from scoring loads of goals what else did he bring to the team?

A lot more than just being a poacher, he could make goals for himself, the goal against Argentina for England at France 98 being a prime example of this.
