This Cheating Piece Of Crap Needs Banning For A Year

So bite someone get 12 games ....poke um in the ass a year ...ok sounds legit

It's far more significant culturally in LatAm. I think this is particularly disturbing in the context. Nothing about this suggests lads pub prank.

If it happened over here whilst I would still see it as totally abhorrent and think you'll probably get and deserve what's coming, there'd be a tiny bit of understanding the hijinx... but I'm talking bloody small.

The innocent guy was sent off for being offended, he never raised his hand, the offender then pretended he had been struck something that clearly never happened, the authorities need to get a handle on this kind of behaviour, it's a blight on the modern game and certainly for me and many other people I know a reason I and they very rarely watch high profile european or international games.

12 months is too long, perhaps 4 months for the player and 8 months for the referee, I would be very interested to actually hear exactly what the referee thought he saw.

I managed to watch 10 minutes of the champions league final and during that 10 minutes Neymar went over 3 times like somebody had zapped him with an electric cattle prod, twice with minimal contact and once with none.

When I was a kid when I played centre and my manager wanted me to mark the opponents' striker particularly closely he would tell me to 'get in his shorts'.  (It was the 70s).  Thankfully never asked me to mark that closely.

Maybe his manager told him to 'play in the hole' and he took his instruction a bit too literally?

No different to Vinnie Jones and Gazza and that's a celebrated image of hardman football.

Get over it. And it happened against Uruguay so even more reason to allow it.

Actually totally different, firstly Vinnie Jones actually did grab hold of Gaza's bollox and actually caused pain, but neither Gazza who was the one assaulted or Jones to deflect from his misdemeanour, went down from an imagined or real assault in order to get a fellow professional sent off.

But hey if that's the direction that you want football to follow then that's fine, another vote for Blatter.

Real assault? It doesn't need to be a clenched fist uppercut ffs! Cavani slapped the Chilean, you can see him move his hand towards the face, regardless of power or connection - see Pritchard for Swindon v Elliott, who flew ten yards, two years back at the Gate.

Raise your hands and you take a risk, whether to the face or chest.

Uruguay got out-Uruguayed and it's funny as ****.

Can't argue with the last sentence.

Perhaps sometimes there are consequences.

Can you not see his hand hit the chin of the Chilean? The clip shows his hand move and touch the face which is why, rightly or wrongly, he went down? Whether it's right or wrong I haven't seen anyone (including even the Uruguay camp) deny that Cavani slapped him.

What I see is (given the circumstances) an incredibly restrained very slight movement, with absolutely no indication that contact was even made at all, if that was enough to make this clown go down, he's in the wrong sport and I have to repeat his action was intended singularly for one and one only outcome, the minimum of a yellow card for his opponent.

in fact I will go as far as to say because the original incident did not provoke the reaction from Cavani he was expecting, he executed plan B to take a dive, job done.

If someone stuck their finger up my backdoor I would give them a slap as well with no excuses (unless she was really fit that is)

Cavani connected when the ref was looking. He should have either ignored it or kicked the shit out of Jara, not gave a half hearted slap.

Cavani knew he'd been done, you can tell by his reaction. As we've both agreed up there Uruguay aren't strangers to these kind of 'dark arts' it's how they play the game. Cavani to me looked more disappointed with himself when he walked.

Cavani's reaction was that of someone who had a wasp buzzing at them. He just did a flick to say "hey get away from my bumhole". Fifa should change the rules to say you're allowed to defend yourself when being sexually assaulted like you could do if it happened on the street. Self defence.

I see no half hearted slap, contact? barely. This is without doubt the best view, the Chilean's player reaction is pathetic beyond belief.

All I saw was a so called professional get fellow professional sent off by play acting and that is unacceptable.

I agree with all of the biting/racism analogies but now is the time to deal effectively with this blight on the game, there is only one way and that is lengthy retrospective bans and huge fines.

The bottom line is it would appear his club are none to impressed, which is good.

I'm not defending it. Just think Cavani can have no complaints. The ref had aleady made his mind up before Raja hit the deck. He spotted the raised hand so only one outcome.

Didn't see anyone on here moaning when Elliott threw himself to the ground to get Pritchard sent off.
