Their one difference with English humour is that they never make fun of Germany whereas we constantly take the piss out of our's. In the qualifying for the 1994 World Cup in USA, England lost out to Germany in the qualifying. The next morning, I had several phone calls from employees at the parent company, asking me where I would be going for my summer holidays! My answer to each was "Ficken Sie auf". Was talking to someone from Bavaria and apparently it is only the northern Germans who conform to our stereotypes as the Bavarians make the same jokes.
