11 Days to Kick Off!

1 Confirmed Signing

Small Squad

Better Opposition

I am worried and bored of trying to be patient...

Let's have something - even if it's a statement from the club saying that they "WILL BE" signing upto 5 players to strengthen the squad!

Summary = Worried

Slightly concerned, particularly considering we had more time to 'get to work' than most with automatic promotion confirmed early on.

I'm not convinced Pack will be able to step up and we desperately need a commanding midfielder.

Not worried, just bored but happy for us to take our time and get the right deals at the right price.

Looking at the team I could only ever see 3 players places under threat from new signings - Agard, Pack and Little if not fit.

Kodjia will obviously play and I really like Pack so wouldn't at all be disappointed to see him starting at Wednesday.

What we obviously needed and still need is players good enough to push what we currently have, quality in depth.

That's why I don't buy the time to gel argument, we were never going yo be integrating 5 new players into the starting xi against Sheff Wed as we had to last season.

We'll get the players we need.

Confident that our first 11 can compete.

Worried that we are only a couple of injuries away from having serious problems as things stand.

Bored of those telling us to keep the faith and this is all part of the plan. He has earned our trust, but I cannot believe that it was ever in Cotterill's plan to have made only one signing by July 28th. Even if we do end up signing 3 or 4 players this week, you can't help but suspect we missed out on our chief targets.

Bored and getting a little worried now, but still hoping for a 5 seater taxi or a small plane to pull up or land with loads of quality players in it :D

I reckon I've got early signs of arthritis due to the amount of times I've logged in over the last few weeks :help:

I'm now worried, when looking around at the teams we will be playing and how SC said last season how important it was to get business done early I think it would be strange if all of us weren't at least a little bit worried.

As the OP said, we have a small squad already and we need at least 5 signings IMO to be competitive in this league. Most teams have at least 20 squad players. Realistically (taking out the U21s that we have called upon) we have about 13.

We are not a club in transition like we have been in the past, we have a strong team ethic, we have a good "spine" now in Flint,Smith and Wilbs, natural players playing in natural positions who are all young and getting better. we don't need to panic buy and the right players will be signed when and if needed. Wilbs was fantastic last season but let's remember he is getting older (no real pace) and last season he had the best scoring record of his career (at league 1 level) - I am not so sure we can totally rely on "wilbs in the spine" at Championship (top half) level.

Just a thought

Did I watch a different team last season to the majority of users on here? What I saw was a young exciting team which didn't need much to improve it.

Big squads are just a myth just look at Bournemouth last season in this league. With the loan market now you don't need big squads and SC proved last season he can use that well.

Anyway can see us getting 2-3 more in and wouldn't be surprised if they were all loans. Didn't SL say we would be doing our business later in the window?
