I felt worse after brighton game tbh.

I agree.

I felt quite melancholy after the Hull game. We had our chances in that game and didn't take them, they scored a great goal and defended well. I feel no ill will to hull to this day.

Brighton was a complete non event. Knew how the game would pan out and we couldn't (at least Danny boy couldn't) do anything about it.

Hull , I thought we were a little unlucky. Great finish but the injury played a big part. I wouldn't mind looking back over it at some time.

I was proud after the season we had. I was angry with wilson and his disgraceful team selection.

I just got to my seat at the Millennium stadium when my father rang me and told me that Lita wasn't even on the bench (i think that's right?) from that moment on i had no confidence in winning the game.

Did we have any strikers on the bench?

Haven't since and never would watch that again. But for whatever reason fate was against us and it wasn't meant to be.

The Brighton game was worse. We had no right to be 90mins away from the premier league, it was a fantasy land.

Whereas with the Brighton game we had experienced pure euphoria at ashton gate overcoming an excellent Hartlepool side (who were the best team by far within that 4 team play off group) to then go and **** it up monumentally against a terrible Brighton side.

I'll never forgive Coles to this day for being so cynical in our own box.

Losing to Hull meant we spent the following season in the Championship.

Losing to Brighton meant we spent the following season in League one.

So the Brighton game was much worse for me.

I don't know why anyone has any ill feelings towards Hull, they finished 3rd in the league and beat us fair and square.

I'd say we did have the right to be 90 minutes away from the Premier League considering we had earned it, deservedly so, over 48 games.

Realistically though we rode our luck. We got fortunate with injuries and in that we had an extraordinary team spirit and never say die attitude at that moment in our long history. But clinically looking at the quality of players in that team, we were nowhere near premier league standard.

Yeah thats how I feel about that team, the final we had no right of being there.

Brighton final however was an absolute joke, we SHOULD have won automatic promotion but bottled it again, had euphoria against Hartlepool and were absolutely dreadful in the Final with no Striker on the bench. Shocking day and Brighton were bang average to boot.

100% agree with you. Having watched the Brighton vs SWINDLE semi final, I cam safely say it was one of the worst football games ever played.

Brighton should've been comprehensively beaten by the quality we had in that side. The fact that they weren't is to this day simply unacceptable.

And Hartlepool were the best side in the play offs (whilst not being the bet during the season).
